o2 sensor question

ok im gonna install a new off road x now the question the new pipes have o2 sensor mounts now will my check engine light still come on
even though the sensors will still be mounted in the pipes and if it does come on will it affect the performance in the car in any way
dont got the cash for turner at this time but got the pipes and what about o2 simulaters

I do think you'll get a check engine lite because the front and rears compare the O2 between each other. With a tuner we turn off the rear O2s.

ya ,you will absolutly get a c.e light .the purpose of the rear 02 sensors are to montior the efficiency of the cats.02 simulators work but the easy way is to turn them off with a hand held tuner.when your c.e light is on your ecm goes into limp mode,which are preset parameters so performance will be down.

I've had my rear O2s triger a CEL and didn't hurt the performance. I have a seperate tune for emission which they have to be on.

MIL eliminators will not work on a 2008. The P0420/P0430 is nothing more than an annoyance DTC. It has absolutely no impact on performance and will not cause failsafe mode.

for some wierd reason our cars here dont have the sensors!!! i guess regulations here dont care that much about emissions!!

You mean the rear ones? They must have the fronts. Do you cars have catalytic converters?.

so what your sayin is that engine light will have no effect on performance or fuel eff.

Mine could be unique, but my cats are removed and O2 sensors still seem to function fine and have not once triggered a CEL. I have not disabled with my predator.

the plug on the actual cats, which i think are the rear ones, was bolted shut!! I just took off the cats and put some straight pipes!

That's odd. Something is setup differently.

When they were cut out, a slightly smaller diameter pipe was welded back in place. Since then, downstream of the O2 sensors, we cut out the stock piping and welded in a GT500 exhaust less the axle backs. Runs great, sounds beastly!

I have seen that before. Depending on the country they have there own regulations. If they don't need the emissions then they don't get them.
