Ok, since I can't put pics inline, here are the descriptions:
1) When I detached the water line in the valley, about a gallon of coolant came out, and ran right to the drain in the back, which goes right over the clutch and out the bottom.. It took 2 rolls of paper towels to contain and clean it up.. That was AFTER I drained the coolant from the radiator..
2) Here is the valley pretty much free of all stuff.. no coolant lines or anything in the way.. Old crossover tube was still in at this point..
3) Here are the valve covers back from powder coating.. lookin GOOD.
4) Front bumper is off, lot of bugs in the radiator..
5) Passenger side with light and reservoir still in...
6) ... and after they were removed.
7) Behind the headlight - had to cut this metal out. Used my airsaw, much easier and faster than the cutting wheel with a die grinder (recommended way to cut it).
8) After metal is removed.
9) Had to skip way ahead now and cut open driver side harness to get at MAF wiring. First I had to cut MAF plug off, then pull back 2 wires to solder a plug on for something (sorry, don't know what the heck it's even for), then I had to pin a new plug and connect it to an extension, which had the wrong end on it, so I had to cut that off and solder on the one I cut off the factory..
10) Net result: MAF sensor wires over on passenger side ready to plug into MAFIA.

1) MAFIA mounted on backside of the upper bumper mount plate. Problem was the upper bumper mount used the holes it covered, so it had to move up, which put it in the way of the intake tube.. In the end it fits there, but not well.
2) Here is the air filter assembly all mounted up and ready to go.. except for the bumper and light which have to squeeze around it.. In the end it fits, sort of. Had to wait til the headlight was going on before I could tighten it in place. Also had to reroute the headlight wires
3) Fuse box in it's new location, about 3 inches to the right and about 2 inches lower.
4) ECU bracket is in place, ECU will sit in front of the engine now.
5) ECU mounted
6) Other side of ECU.. lots of room for wires.. or is there?
7) Valve cover goes on.. Shiny!
8) Hmm, valve cover on, wires plugged into ECU, not as much room as there was before...
9) Driver side valve cover now on...
10) New crossover tube in place, new idler bracket in place. (at this point I missed a page and didn't get the alternator in.. later I realized all the pictures had alternators in them and went back to get it done.. oops!)

1) Wires on passenger side - had to strip loom back and move TPS to new location.
2) Wires on Driver side - Had to strip all loom off and unwind the TAC and (ah hell I don't remember the other one..) Lots of wires and all the coils and injector wires had to be untaped and unloomed to pull those wires back. Took almost a full roll of tape...
3) ... but I got it all back together with plugs re-routed. Notice the valley has plumbing again.. had to modify original coolant lines to get them out of the way of the new manifold. The manual says to make sure the lines plug in and click on the heater core because "it would be more painful than kidney stones" if they come off and leak because the supercharger would have to come off to fix it.. I laughed at that one..
4) Heat exchanger and pump is mounted behind bumper.. pain in the butt because all the hoses that are pre-built to go to this stuff didn't take into account the newer, larger HE, which has the outlets in slightly different locations. A couple of those hoses are in awfully tight locations. Oh, and the manual shows pictures to run the lines to the reservoir and intercooler, but they were taken upside down from under the vehicle.. took me a good 20 minutes to figure it out.. would have been nice to label it as from under the vehicle while standing on your head...
5) heat exchanger is mounted and hanging below bumper.
6) Relay is wired for intercooler pump. Trigger is off of the passenger side noise reducer.. took me a while to figure out that the noise reducer was for reducing electrical noise, not noise you can hear.. lol
7) Headlight back in, as is the foam for the bumper. Now I could tighten the bolts for the intake. Bumper ready to go back on, except what about the reservoir and pump for the windshield washer? Oh, that comes AFTER you put the bumper on and can no longer get to the wires easily. I was smart though and skipped ahead and did that step at this point..
8) End of Saturday night, all is looking good and clean. Except, where is the alternator?
9) Once the bumper went on, the intake box was sticking out.. Ugh!
10) That's gotta be fixed, but next week, time to move on!

2) Reservoir for Washer fluid is in.. to put it together I had to empty the old reservoir - into my truck, which was out. Unfortunately now I have to go buy more washer fluid..
3) Tape is off intake ports and ready for intake manifold! Look! there's the missing alternator!
4) Gaskets are in the manifold an it's ready to go in.. I had to call a friend now because this thing is heavy!
5) Manifold is on! Starting to look like an engine again. Even got the intercooler lines hooked up.
6) Fuel Rails are now on with new injectors installed.. My hands still hurt from trying to push that fuel line onto the barbed fitting.. I silicone sprayed it and everything and after almost an hour of pushing, almost pushing the car off the jack stands, the passenger side is on all the way and the driver side is about 2 mm short of all the way.. it would take a tow truck to get these lines off..
7) Vacuum line is in, one of the more confusing parts.. there are 2 preassmbled lines, and the steps for installing them are like 40 steps apart, and it doesn't specify that you use the one with a tee and 3 lines for this part.. just that it's a 39" vacuum line.. and since there is another vacuum line in the kit that is close to that length with just a tee at the end, you don't know which one to put on.. but you have to zip tie it to the wire loom because the supercharger is about to go on, and you cant change it afterwards, so good luck guessing I suppose.. I guessed right - I hope.
8) Tape comes off the supercharger.. those twin screws are pretty inside.. unreal machining..
9) Tape comes off manifold exposing intercooler.
10) Supercharger is on the manifold, excitement is growing!

Thats kinda funny how the airbox fits perfectly in the vent... If you cant get a cone filter, what about putting mesh in the vent? Just a thought.
That thought crossed my mind.. I sat there for like 20 minutes just looking at it trying to decide what to do about it. The box actually comes to the very outside of the bumper though, so any screen or mesh would have to be flush with the bumper.

2) Vacuum lines for brake assist and other stuff are on.. my guess on the vaccum line from the passenger side was right! Sometimes things work out OK...
3) Belt is on! Holy crap there are a lot of pullies now! 11 in all...
4) Here is the diagram.. funny thing this is printed in 3 places in the manual, on a supplement, and in the owners guide, but they are all wrong.. they added number 7 back in and only have a little text on it (for certain models I guess) in one of the supplements.
5) oil filler tube is removed and cap placed directly in newly powdercoated valve cover. Funny thing here is you still can't get to it with the intake tube in place..
6) Intake tube is in! There is still access to the fuse box, but it's tight.. I could get the oil cap off, but couldn't fill it without removing the intake tube. All my extended and moved wires fit nicely, and I think I actually got everything plugged back in.
7) Next step is BAP, so I am finished under the hood (for the most part). Looks messy in a picture with a flash, but actually is pretty clean.. just need some strut covers, billit caps, and the two wing covers on either side of the radiator cover. maybe a few more zip ties to straighten it up.. There is an oil seperator on the EGR that came with the kit there, you just can't see it in this pic.
8) another shot of the finished engine compartment.
I don't know if I will post more pics here, since all that is left is the BAP and programming. Of course I also have gauges to install, but I don't have a pod yet, and haven't decided what to do for that.. I will probably follow the KB way of doing the Boost-a-Pump, but there is a great write up on that install from TacoBill on MustangForums already.
Hopefully I will be taking the maiden voyage tomorrow afternoon. Now I need to go to bed..

(ie the belt problems are usually from bouncing off the rev limiter, causing stress on the belt and the tensioner).
...
That is 100% incorrect. Is has NOTHING to do with the limiter.
It is because the blower does not slow down fast enough between fast shifts so it "throws" the belt off of the far side of the blower puley and in doing so uses all the slack and slams the tensioner off of it's stops and bends it. I have sat on a dyno and watched it happen over and over again while we tried to come up with a solution.

3) Fuse box in it's new location, about 3 inches to the right and about 2 inches lower.
I modded the bracket that came with the kit and have my fuse block up against the inside (engine side) of the wheel well and backed up to the shock tower. It took some time but left a to of space between the fuse block ad motor, etc.
Quote:
4) ECU bracket is in place, ECU will sit in front of the engine now.
By moving the fuse block I was able to mount the ECU in the stock location but even closer too the inside fender/fuse block. I now have a huge open place along that side of the motor and in front of it.

Sounds like a good idea, perhaps I will look at doing that in the future.. My fingers hurt for now, and I still have the BAP to install this morning, so I don't think I am going to jump in and start re-doing anything just yet. Maybe when I tear it all apart again to change the intake assembly.
As far as the belt thing.. I knew that would get a comment from you . I was just quoting what they say in the supplements.. Personally, given the circumstances of my purchase, the folks at KB are heroes to me, but I can see if I threw a belt and damaged my hood how I might not be thinking kind thoughts of them...
