Default Gear adjustment advice.

Is it possible to adjust ,SHIM, gears AFTER they have been heat cycled? The wear pattern in dead on, and lash seems good. Found no metal shavings in rear last time it was opened. But if I take it to another shop, can it be fine tuned?

No, not really. Once there's a wear pattern it's tough to do much.

Why do you want to do that?

Try some regular gear oil at the same weight.

Now if you were truly capable of “not caring”... Would you care?

As Squidd said, no...

And friction modifier. (I believe 4 oz. but double check)

I've found that conventional lube does run a lot quieter.

Been there done that...even put BG gear lube in in the rear. Still a sound like a truck tire whirring at 40mph. Then at 65 and up it turns to a true high pitched whine.

I'm coming up on 30K and I'm thinking of changing back myself. I do have Moble1 with a bottle of friction and had no problem.
