I'll be glad when I get them all through school. Next step is to get the boy into the Air Force Academy so I won't have to pay for that one!
LOL..... its interesting you said that... I have been long considering the Air Force as a route... When i graudated form high school i wanted to the whole pilot thing but was advised against it a the time and was told going through the airforce was best.....
but they have really strict vision and school requirements to get in on the basis of direct officer enrollment and training in Canada.... which I finally happen to fufil now after all those years.
I tried talking about it to my parents and sisters... my mom wont even entertain the the topic... i guess its a tough sell.... although im breaking my ass to try and get into law school its just so hard.
And now-now dont laugh the Canadian Forces
I did go up in a private sesna (lol) with someone... boy was it awesome.
sorry to go off topic again!

One final part to be replaced. I should have done this first since I think it may have been the root of my problems--MAF sensor. I'm having a weird rich-to-lean problem at WOT and it's clear that the car is pulling timing. I've also noticed that the head temperatures have been getting close to 220* so it appears that the MAF isn't metering the air properly. As a result, the car is sensing not enough air and the PCM is pulling fuel, resulting in a lean condition and causing the spike in temps. Performance is suffering as a result. So it's off to the Ford parts counter tomorrow for a new MAF. So, I've managed to replace almost $1300 worth of parts (Throttle body, O2 sensors, t-stat, coils, plugs, fuel pressure sensor, & evap purge valve) when the problem may have been the MAF sensor all along. Reason I didn't catch it was I'd swapped it with another I have on-hand. Apparently that one is bad too. So, it looks like the GT500 throttle body didn't have any problems afterall. Oh well.

I hope this solves the problem with the car, it sounds like it will.
I would not own a foreign car anymore, that is just me. I sold the Kia. I have 4 Fords and they are more reliable that the foreign cars I owned.
I agree.... I find whatever people's experiences are dictate their opinion on reliability with vehicles... my 04' audi a4 before my s197 was a POS mechanically.... spent atleast 2 weeks at the dealer for ever 4 months of driving.... dont get me wrong it was an awesome car and i loved it but only when it was on the road!
all american cars (GM, Ford) our family has ever owned.... no major repairs or problems ever except my Dad's phoenix which i was never born to witness anyways

So Mark, if you had to do it all over again, would you change anything? (To your car that is).
If I ever get this think back to some semblance of normal, I think I'll leave her be for awhile. Have to order the MAF. Ford wants $250. Rock Auto is $137.
New MAF should be here Friday. If this doesn't fix it I may go on a three state killing spree.
Just be sure to let us know what three states that's going to be, OK?

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

OOOH can I come with,we can fill the trunks.
No but seriously that is high for a Maf sensor. Rock auto is almost half.Man I am as anxious for you as can be on this. I hope this does fix the problem.
