Default Help with autometer gauge install

Hi everyone, The last time I posted was after my Techco supercharger install. I had a coolant leak that turned out to be the O ring on the drivers side crossover tube. My step son, (18) who usually is not interested in helping with mods, decided that he wanted to help with this one. I guess the Techco captured his imagination and curiosity. He did a good job but left a couple of the bolts finger tight. The leak dripped into the valley, out the back of the motor and down the front of the drivers side bellhousing. I went back and retorqued the bolts. Leak fixed.

I still have not intstalled the gauges but did take the car out and drove for about an hour or so. I did bury the throttle in 2nd gear which put a huge smile on my face. WOW, feels like I doubled the power although I know that is not possible. The rpm zipped to the rev limit and the exhaust was much louder. Guess there is more exhaust flow thru the pipes. I also let the kid drive me to the mall. When I got out of the car so he could park, It sounded like there was a turbine in the thing. Love the sound the Techco makes. Everyone who was close by stopped and looked to see what was making that sound...

I have all the gauge line senders T'd, oil pressure, boost gauge, and the water temp sender installed. My problem is the Autometer triple guage pod on the center dash. Autometer says to route the wires thru the aft section of the window defroster vent. I
have taken out the glovebox and took a look, but cant see how to do this without taking the whole dash apart. Does anyone have any tricks or knowlege on how to do this. I have searched 3 sites for info but no one has posted...I am sure someone has used this gauge pod and had to run the wires the same way...Any info on how the wires were routed will be greatley appreciated.

By the way, I have an appoitment with Tillman on July 6th to get on the Dyno and will post the results after that. Thanks GA

Can't help with the gauge install, I have never taken the dash cover off. Just wanted to say I was glad to hear you didin't have to pull the supercharger.. It's nice to see an easy fix sometimes..

not positive on the Autometer gauge pod, but it may be easier to remove the radio to run the wires.

Well I think I answered my own question....Did a search and found that cdc has published instructions with their pod. It does the same thing as AM by routing wires through the defroster duct. It actually shows to use the GAP between the vent and the bottom of the dash pad....I will try to bend up some 3/32 welding rod and fish it thru this gap...I think that it will then run behind the glovebox. I can then attach the gauge wire to the rod and pull them thru...Hopefully that will work.....GA
