Default tire pressure monitor

I just was wondering if there was any way to bypass the tire pressure monitor system.
I had some new wheels installed and the wheels were not as flat as the stock wheels were on the inside, and the mechanic said that there was small chance that the tpms band could get loose and slide over. My light is not on now, but I was just wanted to know if there was a way to bypass it.

We installed 18" wheels on my wife's 08 and the only thing that happens is the info display about low tire pressure and the TPMS light on the dash. She just hits the reset button after she starts the car to clear the message. She isn't bothered by the light on the dash either. She can drive around all day with the seat belt dinger reminding her to wear her belt so a little light shouldn't be to annoying to her.

Some have made a contraption using PVC and a valve and putting the sensors in there, filling it with air, and throwing it in the trunk.

My TPMS has gone off twice. Both times I had a screw in the tire. Both times no damage was done to the car, wheel or to the tire (except puncture). Both times I had no idea that anything was wrong before. It is a worthwhile system and you ought to find a way to deep it operational.

+1 on this one! There are aftermarket valve steem sensors if you want to replace the band set up.
