The American Thunder and Super 44 are both 2 chamber designs. The 44's are supposed to be a little louder.

The Force-II are the 3-chamber design.

The marketing seems to go this way:
  • loud outside / quite inside == Force-II
  • loud outside / loud inside == American Thunder
  • louder outside / louder inside == Super 44's

American Thunder
As the name implies, bolt this system on and you'll let people know you've arrived. If you are looking for the famous, full-on ''Flowmaster sound'', look no further. American Thunder will deliver the aggressive tone you want, as well as the performance you demand from Flowmaster.
The complete ''Cat-Back'' 2-1/2'' systems use Delta Flow two-chamber mufflers and fully aluminized 2-1/2'' pipes, while the 3'' systems use Delta Force technology mufflers and fully aluminized 3'' pipes.
Force - II
Wanna let folks know you've got a Flowmaster system under your vehicle when you ''open it up,'' but don't want a lot of interior resonance? Then check out the Force-II system. Designed to provide plenty of ''Flowmaster sound'' under acceleration but lower sound levels while cruising, it may just be the perfect system for you.
Constructed to fit O.E.M. hangers and mounting positions (bolting directly to catalytic converter.) 3-chamber mufflers are built with welded heat shields and all pipes are 2-1/2'' aluminized tubing.

It is going to sound like poo when you remove the cats. Our cars are super tinny and raspy without cats to cancel out the hi frequency sound waves.

There are two versions of the ATs. A two chamber and a 3 chamber.

So there is the original 2 chamber American Thunder; a new 2 chamber with the Super 44 series; A 3 Chamber Force II;
AND yet Another American Thunder 3 -chamber?

It sound like Flowmaster is out to confuse the heck out of their customers...

Summit Racing only lists the three types (Original American Thunder, 44 and Force II)...

The original ATs were 3 chamber. The new version is two.

Catted H with 44s would sound the best. O/R X and chambered mufflers produce a high pitched tinny raspy sound. You your third option was catted o/r x. If it's catted then it's not o/r. Catted X with flows sound better than o/r x but not as good as H with 44s.
