What is the hp limit of the stock MAF sensor installed in the Steeda 90mm housing if it is used with a Saleen supercharger. I don't know much about this so any input would be appreciated. I was told by someone today that it was dangerous to use the Steeda CAI with the Saleen supercharger. I'm really trying to do my homework before I get the supercharger.
90mm maf should be fine for that. i've seen people run 700hp+ thunderbirds with 4 valve motors with a 80mm lightning maf.
the cai with the supercharger... if you go to kennebell's website they say it adds extra heat as it draws air from the engine bay and will cause the s/c to overheat and lunch itself.

Kenne Bell means an "open air" CAI element will heat the air, they are adamant about having a fender unit...
A tuner can tell if the mass air is at it's limit by monitoring the voltage in real time with dyno runs...I'd go at least 80, but a 90 mm SCT3000 is more than you'll ever need. You'll need to upgrade the fuel injectors, pump and tune as well.

Actually I am planning on running one of Brenspeed's kits with a 3.6 or 3.4 inch pulley. They use the Steeda CAI with their kits, which I already have. I have been making some phone calls today asking questions and doing some research. I was told by someone today that it was dangerous to use the Steeda CAI with the Saleen. They said the MAF would be pegged or close to it. I have also been inquiring about the Whipple kits.
Well play it safe and get the JLT CAI and a 90mm SCT mass air and 60# injectors, you'll need a bigger fuel pump too, trust me, this is no place to go cheap. Check out that Edelbrock kit too, it's looks killer on paper.

I already have the GT500 fuel system. I hope I'm done there for a while.
The Steeda CAI is fine with the Brenspeed Stage 3. They have sold ALOT of these kits. I have it and its fine. I went through the summer perfectly. When you have the blower installed it is a better option to get the GT500 fuel kit. I have the boostapump and will be upgradign when funds permit.

I ran the Steeda CAI on mine with the 3.4 pulley for close to a year before upgrading to the Supershaker, never had any issues.
