O.K. I'm 43 years old and usually don't drive my 07 GT very hard and so heres the question .
What is serious HP for a stock 5R55s ? I mean where is the cut off for a stock trans on Hp and Tq for Sunday driver like myself . My car dynoed at 412 rwtq so If the tuner set the trans with factory solenoids to shift as normal as possible to last . What am I to exspect and what is the limit ?

for a sunday driver, heck even a DD, i have seen mustangs with the 5R55RS with far more power and have no issue. After 500 it starts to strain a bit but the 5R55RS is a solid trans.
550 ft lb of torque is the factory design limit, hence the 55 in the 5R55S.
A 4R70W is supposed to be capable of 700 ftlb of torque, hence the 70 designation.

O.K. , I`m 56 yrs old, so what`s that got to do with how hard you drive your car ? LOL.These cars are too much fun to go easy. If you don`t plan on doing much more I wouldn`t worry about it. I had problems with the factory solenoids, but not until around 440 RWHP, and it was set up to shift pretty hard.

Well, when I was twenty I would nail the car everyother stopsign . These days its more like every other drive . But I still like the speed, hell I love it ..
Anyways its sounds like the stock trans can easily handle under 500rwhp and thats good. When I set up the rear suspention this winter I was wanting to take it back to the dragway and I was a little conserned .
