So, I got all the parts on yesterday and today, fun fun!
My engine is still too tight with only 600 miles on it so HP and TQ should increase by driving it. What we got outa it was like pulling teeth!
There is no standard SCT tune for CAI, Pulleys, CMCPs and X-pipe. So we had to make one. Now there is no data-log avail for the 05 yet, the X-Cal2 will have it so when that comes out in a couple of weeks (one month late) we'll run it again.
We did 15 dyno runs (!) (plus two with computer hickups) only changing fuel/air flow. Ignition timing etc. can be changed with the SCT tuner but the numbers are well hidden by Ford untill we get a data-log (X-Cal2) so changing that would be like shooting in the dark. So we set it rich and started to lean, dyno, lean, dyno.... the only way right now....
Long story short we got 293/314 outa her today with maybe 20-30 left behind in engine break-in and tune of timing etc...
I'm a bit disapointed as I wanted to break 300, the parts add up to 310-315 with 'stock' tunes. But I guess with all these moving parts it's not that easy to just add 'em all up...??
I'll follow up though, +300 is right there!

You will deffinately get three hundred with those mods, and the proper tune. I only have CAI and i got 290 with proper tune so you def. will. I have 4700 miles on mine though, so that will help also. Good luck man and keep us posted.

Yea, I saw your dyno, you did super duper dubel score bonus extra well! The cars are quite different, most stock low mile cars are around 260 RWHP, ranging from 255 to 270 for the stick. Totally stock cars with 1500-2000 miles have all been between 265-275. Ford build them tight and the exhaust 'open up' in addition to the computer learning your driving and climate variables with miles so even without a change I could probably dyno +300 in a week or two...
Keep on reading 5.0! Ken (and Brian) at Modular Depot will be in there many numbers forward with their track cars but also many -05 mods. They are going to add NOS to a brand new 05 this weekend and take it to the track if the weather allows (rainy again.)
They are such nice, smart guys over there, I can't even begin to explain. Real die hard Stangers! They HEARD a 3 RWHP diff on my car during dyno runs!!! They are 'old school' (as everybody since the car is brand new) but they LOVE the looks, design and potential. They were amased how that car came from 'nice' to toatally outrageous at 3800 RMP and up, three valves rock (and that's a quote!)
So keep your eyes on 5.0 there will be allot of piece by piece mods with dynos in addition to their regular 'dinosaur' Stang stuff from MD! (Ken has the fastest normally aspirated Stang in the US I think, Brian is building a 9 sec. beasts!) Hey, you might even see mine in there... we're working on some 'stuff'...

kc_cinci I keep reading about this smaller antenna of yours now I am thinking about reducing mine as well. Do you have a picture of it and where you got it?

It's a $5 antenna from Auto Zone. I even named the pic that.... will put it in here, sorry about the rain... (PS. Any antenna that would fit a Ford seem to work...??)

293 with your mods is great!!! Sure you want 300, but in previous year Mustangs, I have seen people spend $500 for each 5-10rwhp gain. Not uncommon at all.
I mean really, you got 33+ hp from an exhaust, pulleys, CAI and a tune. And most likely when you get the engine broke in, the net will be more like 45-50hp.
You guys are spoiled. Heck, I spent $600 for a TB and MAF sensor on my Cobra and gained 17rwhp. I was thrilled with the result.

Yea, we're spoiled... these cars with the tunable computers are just too easy to get those last 50 HP outa the stock engine. I spent 4x$200 and $475 for the tuner with update cable and a dyno tune. So about $25 per RWHP when all is said and done. Not to forget I can use the tuner over and over again in the future. I'll upgrade it to the X-C2 as soon as it comes available!
Other benefits I didn't mention is the mean intake growl at high revs and it's already showing better fuel consumtion, 17.9 MPG, and I have been playing and not been on the highway yet...
The Tri-Ax upgrade is also awesome! Super crisp!

D6, the 300HP is HP measured at the flywheel,REAL horsepower is at the rear wheels, after all the static loss thru the drivetrain.A stock 05 GT has around 266 REAR wheel horsepower,3 more HP than an 04 mach 1

Thats interesting, isn't the Mach 1 rated at 305Hp?
I've been thinking of Steeda charge motion plates next... I've heard mixed reviews, about gaining HP but losing low end torque. Have you noticed this?
Yes, it might be a bit more sluggish at the lowest end, but from 2000 RPM and up it's the same, just quicker in the response, at 3800 RPM all hell breaks lose! I love it!
The stock ones are not bad, my tuner who if not all have seen most said he was impressed with the stock ones! Very little hindrance when wide open. (Drawbacks with stock are the delay to open, the turbulence/flow disturbance they create, and the smaller holes.) Have seen dyno runs with 12-18 RWHP gains. I'd say in the low teens sounds right, but when you push it down (tuned with a CAI) it's all there, more like the big throttle heads in the old days, no delay! For me the gains in drivability-fun and power was a bonus as they are there in prep for forcing the air/fuel mixture in (bigger and wide open holes!)
Worth $250 if you can install, +400 with install, maybe not if you don't have BIG plans?!?

So am I to assume that the "300hp" mustang gt is not 300hp
As they said earlier... but Ford was shy with that 300 number, cars with a couple/few 1000 miles on them probably have around 320 at the engine/flywheel....
