Question about "clicking" as clutch pedal is lowered & raised
Just a quick note: My 05 GT's clutch pedal makes a slightly audible "click" noise about 2/3rd's of the way to being fully depressed and the same noise at the same point on the way back up. I can also feel a slight tap, very light, on the clutch pedal, as I'm shifting and the click is heard. It is not affected by how lightly or hard I shift, I just wonder if this is normal. Other than that, zero problems or questions, Anyone out there have any thoughts on this?

Hey Maddog,
I heard that a few days after I got my car. Next day it was gone. Yesterday I heard it again. Today it's gone. Maybe it's some sort of self adjuster?

I have the same clicking noise in my 05 v65spd. Its like a real sloppy shift with the clicking noise. The car is going in next Wednesday for that and several other problems. This country is going to force me to by foreign. This is rediculous already with American made. Although my 92 Chevy truck doesn't even make noises like this car.

Thanks for the reply -- Could you keep us informed what the service techs said and what the fix is, if any?

Thanks for the reply -- I wasn't going to take it in just yet, because the clutch works as advertised and I don't want to mess with the factory settings. Let me know if it gets worse, better, or you have it serviced, and what the problem (if any) was.
I think we are talking to different noises hear. I am talking about the clutch click. That is a small clicking noise. You can not get rid of it. I would say they all do it. Mishy10 is discribing a shifting noise. Guess what. They probably all do that or will, also. Nature of the beast. These cars with the 5 spd are going to make some noise. I recommend you turn up the stereo or just get used to it. I notice alot of people are taking their Stangs in for noises. Keep in mind some mechanic is beating the crap out of your car on test drives trying to get it to make noises. They will tell you its normal in the end. If it is something really wrong I think you will know. Just drive it and have fun.

Well, considering its still under warranty, and not wait until its not under warranty to get it checked out anyway and get screwed with paying for it if there is something wrong. Its highly likely that it is a problem, especially after reading all the frigin problems everyone's having with this particular vehicle. So yeah, I'lll have even more fun with it knowing that its not going to be a problem after I get it checked out for free.

It's definitely the clutch clicking -- barely perceptible -- but there. If that's normal, I can live with it. Just want to know if that's the case, and thanks for the reply!
Yes it is normal. If you want, look under the dash at the clutch pedal while you engage and disengage it. You will see the switch that is making that noise:thumbsup .
If it really bothers you and you have no worry of liabilities, cut the switch out and cross the wires permanently. This, of course, assumes the ECU only checks that position during engine start. If it's used for something else (like rev management during shifting) then it wouldn't do to mess with it.

Hey, Firedude, thanks!! If its normal, then it's OK. I appreciate the information.
