update to convertible top operation problem

Just got a phone call from the dealership re: my headliner hanging up on the top of the back seat when I put the top down. Apparently, where my headliner is attached to the top, the stitches have come out, causing the headliner to not fall in place with the top. Service writer says hard telling when the new headliner will be in. Also the rubber weatherstrip on top of the windows is puckered, and they need to be ordered too. Going to get my car tonight--don't want it sitting around the dealer for any amount of time.

Anyone had to get parts yet for their 05? What kind of time frame can we be looking at?

My car went in last night for headliner separation. I was told they will look at the 12 problem that I brought to their attention. I will let you know what they say about the top. I imagine that JC Lewis Ford here in Savannah will say no problem like they say with everything else I have brought the car back for....

Hey! I just drove that Mineral Gray GT with the black top that they have on their lot yesterday. It was my first time driving a Mustang since my old '91 model. Needless to say I almost pitched a tent right there in the car.

I saw the car yesterday when I dropped mine off. The sales staff was helpful at JC Lewis, but good luck with the service department.

I'm going with Greenway Ford in Orlando. I have a brother-in-law who works there and they have offered me the best deal for the car I want. Plus, I'll be living in Melbourne by the time the car delivers. I think the tags are a lot cheaper than GA tags too, since they aren't rated to the cost of the vehicle.

Thanks for the info everybody. Am anxious to get it fixed before the top down weather runs out here in Chicagoland. I can tuck in the headliner when the top is 1/2 way down, but it's kind of a drag, especially when it's supposed to work right. Oh well, they'll get it fixed.

By the way, 2k5gtc, I have the same color combination as you, except I took the cloth seats and I didn't get the GT. Never saw the color combination till mine was delivered, but I love it! It really catches a lot of eyes around here.

It's close to 100 everyday here. Not condusive to putting the top down and cruising.

I love the combination too. I debated whether to get the deluxe cloth or the premium leather. Guess you know what won.
