I don't need any Xcal experience to know what data is available from OBD II. There is no ACCURATE way to determine 60 ft or 1/4 mile times from OBD II data. What happens if you spin your wheels, even a little? How can OBD II data account for that, among other things? Any ET estimates by using OBD II data are just that, ballpark estimates at best. If you want an accurate estimation use a G-Timer. If you want the true number, go to the track.

I quoted Billy and ask HIM if he was familiar with LiveLink... not you... Go back and read his question... he said 0 to 60 MPH... no one said any thing about 60' times...

My ODB II data for my 0 to 60 MPH is very close to my G-Tech times... neither one of them is 100% accurate but they are close enough to be valuable...

Good point about spinning tires throwing off your 1320 times..didn't think of that

In any case, I did not expect now think very much about how much instrumentation was available for dataloging....figured I'd be looking at more esoteric diagnostic data... . it was a pleasant surprise. since it's tough for me to get strip or road course time...made me do a few whole shots and compare data between runs!

Actually, I think it's time for a few more runs!

Hey 5twenty,

What else do you need to do datalogging with the Predator? Does it read out on the tuner or do you have to download it to a computer?

That's all you need. A good reason to pick Predator over Xcal is it has a much better display than Xcal's two line text only display. With Predator you can view real time and saved data in a graphical display. You can also upload this data to your computer for even more resolution and options.

Check it out here (See #9): http://diablosport.com/U7140.php

So I need to download the data logging software into the Predator before I use it right? It doesn't come pre-installed. I've done it with custom tunes so I know how to do it.

No downloads unless you're using your PC, I think. I think you go to the diagnostics on your Predator. I'll look.

On the predator you also can playback your data in graphical form, zoom in on any part of the graph. I don't even bring a laptop to the track unless I want to save the results.
