Exclamation steeda ultralite springs

Well,
My Steeda Perf Wht convertible Q is almost done! Question:
I put the Steeda Ultralite Springs and the 18" Steeda Ultralite satin
rims on my vert (looks awesone), when they went to balance the tires they said they could not get the car back to spec. I then asked them about if the car needed the camber plates. The guy told me that Ford had a part out now that is specially made for the new S197 mustangs that puts some sort of an elongating screw that gives you the adjustability etc you need to bring the car into spec. I called Steeda and they said that the -1.4 camber and 7.9 caster on right front and -1.2 camber and 7.3 caster on left front was fine. The guy at NTB who did the alignment said that my tire wear would be awful at these settings and if they ordered the part from ford they could get my car back into spec with the new springs. help??

If those were the readings on my car, I wouldn't worry about the caster (in fact mine reads 7.7 and 7.8). The camber would bother me because I do my driving on the road and want the tires to last 40,000 miles. If you are serious about competition driving, you may like the added camber you have because it gives you more grip in front when you corner. I personally, would buy a pair of camber bolts (they are available on ebay for under $20/pair) and get the camber under -1.0. I believe factory sepc. is -0.75.

Enjoy the added camber. The tires eventually need to be replaced anyway. Besides, we are not adversed to spending a couple bucks to get added performance. For the miles and grip you will get on those tires, you will probably feel it was worth it.

is this "issue" only with the steeda springs? or is it a common thing with other brands too?

i would imagine that its less of an issue with the steeda springs.since the other spring companies lower the car more then the steeda's.which in turn would affect the suspension geometry even more.
