Default Mustang Dyno MD1100SE and my Mustang GT Automatic

I just had the pleasure today to visit Mid Coast Performance, St. Charles, MO. it was like walking into Kevin Harvick,Inc. unbeleivable!

These guys build real race cars from the ground up. They had 5 cars all in different stages of construction and all Mustangs, well the body's were, everything else was built like a Nascar car. These cars were being built for road racing.

The reason for my visit was to put the GT Automatic on their Eddy Current Mustang Dyno. Man this thing is cool, it simulates real life driving, oh ya, did I forget to mention the Drag Races feature....awesome..... accurate to 1/10 of a second as compaired to the real deal.

I wanted to test my SCT 93 Xtrem Tune that I got from Fred at Evolution Performance. I am impressed to say the least.

Using the Drag Race feature of the MD1100SE my times were as follows:

Reaction Time: 0.313
60' Time: 1.901919................................speed 34.55417
660' -1/8th mile time: 8.267783..............speed 84.76154
1/4 mile time: 13.00293 speed 104.2007

Because I didnt have the 93 Xtreme Tune file from Evo Perf. we couldnt lock in fourth gear and it was difficult to get a good dyno run showing rwhp and torque. The car kept wanting to down shift when we floored it.

For the "whats it worth" department the GT dyno'd at 285rwhp and 295 torque. The owner, running the dyno said that because we couldnt lock the transmission into 4th that these nubers are low. In fact, he didnt charge a dime for his services. He also says that his numbers will always be about 7% lower in readings than a Dyno-Jet.

When I questioned him about the difference between a Dyno-Jet and the MD1100SE he said if your looking for numbers use a Dyno-Jet. If you want to know exactly what your car is doing in real life and on the track use the Mustang Dyno MD1100SE.

Has anyone else used one of these dyno's?

What an afternoon!
