Country Ford in Levittown refuces to honor warranty
I took my 2005 Mustang convertible with only 4000 miles to Country Ford in Levittown, NY to fix the problem with the brake reservoir cap leaking and to install a rubber bumper which ws missing from the fuel door area. After keeping the car for half a day, they tell me that they will not service my vehicle because I have a CAI installed.
I told them that the Magnusson Moss act states that unless the modifcation caused the failure, they would need to honor the warranty and they told me I had to take it back to the dealer where I purchased it. I know that's b#LL.
I called the Ford customer service number and complained but I know that won't do much good.
Fortunately, Able Ford where I bought the car, is a really good dealership and I should not have any problems there. I went to Country because they are only 4 miles away from me as opposed to Able which is almost 30 miles and there is always traffic going and coming from there.
Hope you guys get better service from your local Ford dealers. Country Ford is a perfect example of why everyone hates to buy american cars.
Don't know what good it might do, but a letter to the newpaper editorial page regarding poor customer service might get their attention?? When will these dealerships wise up...I guess when a customer is willing to take it to the limits and that's where most us can't go....
Try going to their website and sending an email to the general manager.
Had a similar problem....called and got no positive response. Sent the email and got a phone call the next day.

That is alot of Bull. Sees like someone was pretty lazy at that dealership. its not like you were asking them to overhaul your tranny or something. BTW- I have the same prob. with my brake fluid reservoir cap leaking. Let me know what the issue is when you get it repaired. Thanks-Brian West 157thStreet

That's a crock of $hit!!! That's why I hate dealers... They'll waste your time like its nothing and then want to bill you for it. I am still looking for a cool service dept on LI too. Especially with all the mod's already that I've done - they're goin to have a field day.
I haven;t even brought mine in for some tsb for that same reason. Just don;t need the aggrevation. Hope they realize it just doesn't make good business sense - especially when it's obvious that one thing has nothing to do with another ( ie -- CAI and a rubber bumper ?!?!? )
Good luck and let us know happens

I just came back from Able Ford. What a great dealership! They serviced the car with no problems at all. They ordered a new reservoir cap and told me to keep an eye on it for a few weeks after it is replaced to make sure it does not leak any more. If it's OK, then they will make an appointment with their body shop to paint the frame rails underneath the brake reservoir.
This dealership treats their customers with respect. They not only admired the modifications I had made, but also offered to do future mods for me. They will not only warranty the parts they install but also the labor. It was a pleasure dealing with them.
Ford dealers should expect mustangs to be modded, thats one of the selling points of the car. Dont punish us for buying your damn car and then not want to fix a problem that has nothing to do with a mod. that is plain bad customer service.
