Default 2005 Mustang GT - Need Some Pulley Size Help...

I have a non-cooled Vortech S-Trim on my 2005 Mustang. I am right at 430RWHP. I have just purchased a Paxton Air/Air Intercooler set-up and I am looking for max power, but on the same hand - I want to be safe in the end. I want to be right around 475-500RWHP.

Few Questions:
1. What pulley size should I go with?
2. How much PSI will that pulley produce?
3. Do Paxton pulleys fit the Vortech head (there is one included).
4. What rib should I use with the pulley?
5. How big should the belt be?

Thanks,
SA

Hmm, I would probably stick closer to 475RWHP, in my opion that is even pushing it on a stock engine but as long as you have a consertive safe tune it should be relitivly safe. I would also upgrade to the dual Gt pump system, PMP, JDM, leathal performance and others sell this type of fuel system and I believe it goes a long way to ensure the safty of your engine.

OK, call me nuts, but I have much more experience with "other" types of cars. Why do you guys all pay ~$800 for a pair of 130 lph "supercar" pumps (including a new pump assembly, wiring, etc.) when you can get a 255 lph Walbro pump with the same type of fitment as factory for about $100? These things EASILY belt out enough fuel for 500 whp and 30+ psi of boost.

The numbers came from the regular kit which is about 7-8 PSI. I assume that you got your dyno numbers on a mustang dyno? That could be why. Justin at JPC said their numbers are usually low, but not as low as a Mustang Dyno provides. I do not know the logic behind it - HP is a measure and I have no clue why dyno's give different numbers....

To be honest, I was VERY surprised with the numbers. Vortech only rates the small kit at 420 and this on was at 428.5 off the dyno. Justin said they could even of given more to it, but with out the cooler, they had to turn it down without it blowing up...

Who tuned our car? I am no expert, but JPC is! Give them a call jpcracing.com and tell them what your tuner did with your car with A/F ratio and they can steer you in the right direction. JPC has car that is running 9's right now and they definately know their stuff!!!

I am adding a Paxton Air/Air set-up and I should be up around 475-500 pushing 9-10 PSI at the wheels. I wish I could be more help to ya man - but it seems dyno results have variables with the type of dyno, tune etc.

Cheers,
SA

Yes, never try to compare numbers from one car to another AND one dyno to another. It's utterly useless although some ppl have rules of thumb for percentage differences from one type of dyno to another. Realistically, the only useful measure is one car on one dyno both before and after a change to measure differences.
