5. Remove any bolts under air dam/front spoiler that attaches to bumper that may impede separation of bumper from body. My GT/CS has 5 small bolts. Sorry forgot to take pics.
6. Pull side of bumper down, to separate it from the mounting bolts, and then out to the side to separate bumper (red) from body (green). The red area hooks around the green area so that's why you'll need to pull the bumper out towards you from the side. If you don't do this, it'll be tough to pull the bumper off from the front of the car. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...SC03479-WU.jpg
7. This is the bumper guide tab which slides under the headlight housing. This will be your guide when putting the bumper back on. Make sure it slides back under the headlight housing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...SC03480-WU.jpg
8. Before completely separating bumper from body you'll need to remove the corner light bulb sockets or else you'll pull the wires and risk breaking/damaging them. Just turn them counterclockwise a 1/4 turn to remove. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...SC03482-WU.jpg
12. I used an x-acto knife to slice away the insulation of the two wires on the smaller bulb. I then soldered the halo wires to these and wrapped them with electrical tape. The halo wires are both black and it doesn't matter which wires go to which. The thing circled in green was later attached to the car body after everything was put back together. It came with 3M tape. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...SC03488-WU.jpg
16. Reinstall bumper onto car and tighten all screws except for the wheelwell-to-bumper screws. Don't put those on yet. You'll still need access to the corner light area. Reinstall corner light bulb sockets.
Stay tuned for my halo headlights DIY. That's when I get them of course.

They're only on when you turn on the parking/running lamps or when your headlights are on.

hmm... do they make a noticeable difference in visibility at nite, due to the extra glow from the halo?
They don't increase light output at night if that's your question. They're more for others to see you during the day like daytime running lights. I think that's what BMW had in mind originally. At night, it helps others notice you more but doesn't help you see better in the dark.

Here's some halo fogs. These are actually CCFL types but the seller doesn't state that. I bought mine from another seller on Ebay but he doesn't appear to have any right now. Anyway, the ones in this link are the same ones I have. They're made by Eagle Eyes. CCFL halos have the little black rectangular inverter you can see in the picture that's attached to the halo.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I just installed these Halo fog lights. Went in without a hitch. They didn't come with any directions and I just wired them up with the parking lights. I had also just changed out my corner lights to clear instead of the orange. The only thing I was wondering, because this really bugs me, is that the Halo portion of the fog light is a bluish color and the parking lights are more clear( just a different color) What I am trying to figure out is how I can wire the Halo portion of the fog lights to come on when the car is started (like daytime running lamps) Can this be done easily?
You are right. Driving done the road for the first time, EVERYONE was looking!

You want the halos and the parking lights the same color? Shouldn't you have amber bulbs in the parking lights even though the lenses are clear now? Anyway, you can replace the parking light/sidemarker bulbs which is a W5W type with LED ones that are bluish white or super white but then you'd have to replace the turn signal bulbs which are 3157 types to the same color because they act as parking lights also and that would be illegal since you need amber bulbs for turn signals.
If you really want daytime running lamps then you could probably wire the halos into a switched ignition lead. That way, the halos will come on when you turn on the ignition. I don't have a wiring diagram so I can't help you with that.
