Default 2005+ Mustang... What's needed to install daytime running lights?

What is need to have day time running lights (DRL)
Install a relay ?
I see they are standard on Canadian models
Thanks

Web Electrics has a plug in module, but it uses your parking lights, not the headlights. I believe it's webelectricproducts.com

I'd like to make my fogs into DRLs. I emailed Web Electric and asked if their module could be used for this.

This function is controlled by the "Smart Junction Box'. It is located behind the kick panel in the passenger footwell. It would have to be reprogrammed by a dealer to add the DRL function. I know this has been discussed in a thread on AFM a while back, but I don't know if anyone has had theirs successfully reprogrammed!

Good luck!

I think several folks have investigated the SJB solution with no (or little) success. The WebElectrics solution is a good one. I traded messages with them over using their module for the driving lights. The response was that the lights were at the outside limits of the current their module would tolerate. Also note that their module would run the lights at 100%.
There is another solution from another mustang BB. Check out this link: Ford Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Module Install - The Mustang Source Forums . The car owner (TacoBill) has a really sweet ride and makes meticulous records of his mods. He has used a DRL module intended for the F-150 (the pics are of another car - not his). I have one of these modules but haven't installed it yet. I think WebElectrics is an execelent source of products (I have 2 of their products - so far) but want to use my driving lamps instead of the parking lamps. Over the last couple of years there have been loads of posts on this topic, seems all the Canadians want to turn theirs off (required by law) and south of the border we want to turn them on. Go figure....

This is exactly what I want to do, and -- I already have the DRL module. I bought an auto headlight module from Ford for my F150 years ago, and they sent me the DRL one instead. They sent the right one out and didn't ask for the DRL module back.

Now for the best part, I just cleaned out the garage this weekend and decided to toss the DRL module as it has been sitting around for a long time and I had no use for it (I thought). Upon reading this thread, I went into the garage and went through the garbage and dug it out... Feeling pretty lucky now

Note Web Electric said I should just hook fogs into switched hot. Didn't like that idea as there is no delay and its 100% output.

I hate DRL.

A morning doesn't go by that I don't seem someone with no taillights because he has DRLs and thinks his headlights are on.

from what i know its extreamly easy to do this. when you look at the wires going to the fog lamps for example.. there should be 3 1 positive.. 1 negative...1 positive wire going to the switch. disconnect the positive wire going to the switch and run it to a ignition wire insted.. this way everytime you turn the key on the wire gets power and lights turn on.

edit: i know everyone might have some special moduals and things but from personal experianc and my ways i dont like that stuff.. its better fabbing yourself and knowing where the wires are. my idea should work. my car has some freaky electronic gismos ... still cant figure 1 thing out but thats not what this threads about
