Default New Brakes for my 2005 Mustang V6'er

What are the components I would need to get a completely new brake system? On eBay, they have the Mustang GT OEM Front Rotors & Calipers Package '05-'08...is that all I need for a all new brake system for the front? Also, I heard that I would have to change my wheels or something like that in order to fit the GT brakes on mine...would 18x9's work?

I don't know much about mechanical stuff. Would the GT brakes be a big or some improvement from the V6 ones I have on now. I want some great stoppage time...I usually stop from high speeds so...

As I understand it, the only differance between the V6 and GT brakes is the size of the rotor. The V6 rotors are smaller, to fit the smaller 16" wheels. The calipers and pads are the same.

To upgrade, you need the bigger rotors, and the V8 caliper brackets. Get the brackets from Ford, and the rotors from your favorite auto parts store. Upgrade the pads to something like Hawk HP-S.

18x9s would work. So would the stock 17x8s.

Alright, so the GT Rotors with the GT Caliper Brackets and get some Hawk HP-S's? That would give me a better stoppage. How long do the Hawks brake pads last for until I have to change them?

And stlwagon, I have the 16's

Why not? You're not likely to find anything better for performance. Unless you want holes for more bling.

The calipers are the same for the GT and the V6. Don't waste time money and effort to swap them to the same part number.

All you need is the rotor and the caliper bracket from the GT.

Rear brakes are apparently the same between the GT and the V6.

Those look like the right brake pads.
