A The power windows...
I know that after having windows tinted you cannot roll them up or down for 4-7 days, and since they roll up and down automatically a few inches, I seem to be screwed here. unless i remove the window and be out of a car for 7 days -_-
B the rear window defroster...
Wouldn't the tint NOT allow me to use it anymore?
Thansk in advanced

My mustang is tinted all around (except the windshield of course). The rear defroster is not a problem and it should work the same after you get tints. Yes they tell you to not roll your windows down for 5 to 7 days, but it is more of a suggestion I think. If your windows move around a couple inches maybe it is best that you not drive for a couple days and let it be. As long as you get some kind of lifetime warrenty you should be fine. Also it is very expensive to take the tints off the back window because of the defrosters, so hopefully you do not change your mind but I doubt you will.
Good questions! I am going to tint the windows on my car too. Although in MD the tint opacity must be 35%. SUCKS! I would want it at least 25%. Although I am going to get them done in Texas and there it is 25%. And I doubt that cops crack down on it that much, especially when there is only 10% difference.
And to the orignial poster: Ask the place where you are going to get them tinted for what they think.
I had my windows tinted on my 07 4 months ago and they are perfect
although, all new fords, lincolns, etc. need a protective covering called moleskin that allows the tint to stay protected when you put your windows down.
when i got my windows tinted it only took 24 hrs for the tint to be fully dried and ready to use ( i just never rolled down my windows for 2 days to be extra safe) and also when you open the door the window shifts down a little bit, this doesnt affect the tinting at all.
i think tint is the way to go and it will not affect your driving time just that you cant roll down your windows for 24 hours.
all this information was given off of experience and differnt tint specialists might cause differnt results.
I had my Explorer windows tinted and the tech told me I had to wait two days before rolling them down. He said that that would keep the edges from rolling and help keep out bubbles.

Yeah here in Missouri front windows have to be 35%. That's no fun, but I enjoy laughing at my ricer friends who get tickets every week for their 20% or 5% front window tints.

Oh so they do care... dang. I guess I'll have to tell them to install it for Maryland. Or is 10% not that big of a difference?

It depends, my buddy has a 5% tint and a cop only said something to him once because he had pulled him over for something else and couldnt see who was inside the car and was scared to go over to his car because he couldnt see the driver, just a BIG figure... my buddy is a 6 foot 4 300 pound asian lol.
anyways, you can try the 20% cuz thats what i plan on doing after i take off my 35% but i need to find someplace that will keep my windows from getting scratched... this is my second tint job and its scratched up again, my dads is too, it sucks.
o btw you dont have to go to texas to get your windows tinted below the maryland tint limit, maryland will do it without a problem lol

Just roll your windows down if you get pulled over before the cop gets out of his car in most places it's a secondary violation, meaning you can't get pulled over just for tint.
I would just avoid rolling my windows down. You ca still drive it though. When the guy installed my tint he just tucked in the rubber strip in the bottom so when the door opens and closes when the window goes up and down it doesn't affect the tint. Worked out nice, I don't have any complaints or problems.

I had mine tinted last Friday (25%) and the slight window up after closing the door is no problem at all. I advised the guy at the shop and he said numerous other vehicles have that feature. It definately changes the look of the car and is worth it.
