Default X Pipe or Y pipe? Or does it not really matter.

Right now i have a dual exhaust set up on my 2006 v6 mustang that was custom made with just the 2 pipes straight back from the headers. Wanted to know if and x or h pipe would make a big difference in hp and/or sound... If so which one?

It will help to balance the exhaust between the left and right banks. You could have a cross piece fabricated and welded in.

I had the same question, then about week ago I went with the x pipe, and It really brought out the sound and power, Im sorry I didnt do the x pipe a long time ago, I stayed with straight duals for about 4 months.
