Well ive been reading and reading and i have a question, i might sound a little stupid but do i have to buy the 4.10 gears made specifically for the mustang 8.8" rear end, or can i purchase them for a different model ford, like a new take off or something

stlwagon is right-any 8.8 gear set will work. what do you find hard to believe? it's a decent price and Ford Racing parts are great quality. 4.10's are REALLY low gears for a street car with gas prices the way they are. I hope it's not a daily driver! 3.73's are a better compromise for acceleration and mileage.
what i find hard to believe is the price, everywhere else is like 200 or more, if you know a better place to buy them please by all means let me know . .
ive also heard that if the part number ends in "A" its a genuine FRPP part, if it ends in "M" then it was made by Motive for Ford Racing. Is there any validity in this statement?

and i checked evolution performance for their prices because i read on a few posts that they were selling them for $115 but now they are $225 . . so . . any other better places . . anyone?

No, evolution still has 4.10's for $115 but they're for the 7.5". I'm not sure that the 8.8" 4.10's were ever marked down to $115.
