Like I said in an earlier post, at least with what I've seen, putting a bigger better battery in with what was there before helps a lot. Now to me the whole issue of it dieing, Ford TSB says is normal...There may be a difference in the yellow car. Even though they are the same they were assembled at 2 seperate times. You never know where a different part number may be located. To me I would put at least a deep cycle optima in there. It cant hurt AT ALL. They come 3 year free replacement at any store that carries them.
The battery is easy to blame if someone was telling me his battery sucks because it wont hold a charge, I'm not really going to take his word for it. Especially if I dont know his expertese. It might not be the battery, could be the alternator, etc.. All I'm saying is in THIS particular circumstance (FORD HAS TSB) all it could be is the battery. Ive had times where the battery really does promote a cars good health. I would like I said Opt for a Deep Cycle, even if you dont want to go with an Optima, there are PLENTY of manufacturers carrying them. I really haven't ever had a problem with ANY Optima. I run currently 3 of them and have maaany people swear by them like me. They are not going to last 20 years, but If you get the right one for the right car (RedTop, YellowTop)..........Like I said when there patent runs out, All car manufacturers will have the design stock on most vehicles.
