Default 2005 V6 Mustang Gauge Cluster Swap issues, Help

Just replaced a bad Gauge cluster for a 2005 V6 Mustang, Temp gauge went bad, tech mentioned used cluster I bought off of Ebay was number off on part number. Most likely an upgraded cluster?
Temp is working, but now I have three lights on, ABS, Brake and also looks like an anti skip light, new/old cluster is showing the wrong mileage as well ( Showing from other car mileage) Do I need to take to Ford Dealer or will the computer just fix on it’s own? Do I need to re-set computer? Help!

Was that tech a Ford tech? If so I wouldn't go back to him. The asbuilt data in your original cluster needs to be downloaded at the dealer and then uploaded to the new cluster. That should fix the lights on the cluster.

As for the mileage, you need to have that done at a speedo shop that will do digital mileage. Ford dealers cannot do this. Expect to pay anywhere from $80 and up.

I bought my six gauge cluster from a online Ford dealer as I wanted to upgrade from the four gauge type. It was reprogrammed from my current mileage befoer it was sent to me. I bought the switch to control it at the same time. So far so good. Then I installed it. The ABS and Brake warning light comes on a beeps at me then stops and beeps when I put it in reverse or went I pass 70. Maddening. I went to a local dealer and the mechanic said that that could nto be turned off at the PCm. I don't have ABS or TCS on my car so I have a cluster problem not a automobile problem. I have a call into the dealer that sold me the cluster about fixing it which I am guessing will invlove shipping the 6 gauge cluster back again. I put the foour gauge back in last night. Frustrated....

Which dealer did you get it from? Cost?
Thanks,

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the asbuilt data in the cluster doesn't match your car, most likely the only reason it's not functioning properly. I swapped a FX4 cluster into my XLT F150 and did a bunch of reading beforehand and had conversations with a good Ford tech. Here it is in a nutshell, the dealer will log in to Ford and fetch your data (asbuilt - all the factory options your car left the factory with) that was programmed into your PCM. They will push/upload that data to your new cluster. On my F150 the FX4 cluster gauges would work, but my AC, 4X4 switch, OD lockout and chimes would not. Explained it all to the dealer service writer and he couldn't understand, luckily the tech knew exactly what to do.

So back to your issues, the asbuilt data already in your new cluster could be for a car with ABS and that's why it freaks out. You shouldn't need to send it back, just a quick trip to the dealer and you should be golden.

Well the cluster from teamford.com in Las Vegas is a V6 cluster it only goes to 120 instead of 140 for the GT. The cluster came direct from the outfit that rebuilds them for Ford. They programmed in my mileage before they sent it to me. As I said in my message above the local Ford dealer mustang mechanic is the guy that told me directly about it not being fixable from the PCM side (i.e. turn off the OBD-II code for ABS and /or TCS I thought). Yes I agree I shouldn't have to send it back but the sellers are being very slow IMHO in communicating and helping me fix this issue. If it has to go back for another reprogram so be it it is a useless piece of junk to me as it is now.

Postmortem. Well I went to another local Ford dealer and the mechanic there reprogrammed the PCM and the instrument cluster works as it is supposed to. The labor charge the dealer imposed on me really pissed me off and left a bad taste in my mouth on the whole experience. Well at least the darn cluster works now.

Default My Temp Guage went out

ok so this is the first time ive posted before. I have an 05 Ford Mustang V6 and its my first mustang and my temp guage is acted up. I checked with the dealer about servicing it and they were saying like 500 bucks if I needed to replace the cluster so i was hoping it was just a sensor but now Im reading that its probably the cluster so I don't want to have to headache of wrong milage reading and what not so what should I do and where should I buy this product at and is it easy to install myself or should I just pay to have it done.
