i just pulled all the spark plug ends loose, out of the wire looms, and removed the 4 bolts, and the wire harness plug from the coil, lifted the coil with the wires still on it off. laid it on the bench, matched and plugged the new wires ( that are numbered) into the new coil, applyed the electro lube to each boot and set the new coil and wires in place on the motor. then it was just routing the wires back to the plugs. you could allways take a couple pics before removing. in my case i had my g/f`s car to reference.
The lube, do you want to apply it to the wires or the plugs or both? I plan on doing this tonight, my parts have been sitting in my garage eyeing me for far too long

How hard of an install is this for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about cars? Are the instructions that come with it pretty detailed? Sounds like an awesome upgrade on both the performance side and cosmetics. I had never even heard of this item till I read this so thanks!

I have to say I owe you an apology, although you'd never know it if I didn't tell you. I did The screamin demon and live wires, and when I first looked at it and saw the firing order I coudn't understand how you got 2 wires backwards (it's 1, 2, 3 down one side and 4, 5, 6 down the other, and the coil is 1,2,3,4,5,6 right around) Well after my install sounded as good as a v8 but popped and ran lousy. I remembered your post and what I had thought, and looked at the ford coil and wires (luckily I left the wires plugged in to the old coil as one unit) It's 1,2,3,4,6,5 around the coil not 1,2,3,4,5,6. I said OK now who's the dope. I pu 5 and 6 in properly and runs like a champ.

The transformation has begun!
Step 1. place a jack under the driver side rear end and jack up useing the axle or lower controll arm bracket. the wheel needs to go up with the body.
Step 2. put oil pan under the diff.
Step 3. WEARING SAFETY GLASSES use the 1/2 inch socket and back out all of the hoseing bolts on the diff.
Step 4. use a screw driver and pry the bottom off of the diff, oil will come out!
Step 5. take the cover and use a scraper to remove old gasket, besure to get all of it off. run the scraper on the houseing if theres any on there, sometimes it just peels off.
Step 6. apply RTV gasket to the houseing cover. i put a thin line between the dish and the bolt holes, a thick line between the outer edge and the bolt holes, then a dab on each side of each bolt hole.
Step 7, stick a bolt in the top of the diff cover, and jimmy in and back on to the diff, hand tighten the bolt up top so it hangs there, then do the bottom, then in a even pattern. go back and tighten them down. look for specs in owners manual, or maybe someone can add them on, i just got mine really tight. i usually put a bit of RTV on the end of the bolts too.
Step 8. on the drivers side of the diff next to the drive shaft theres a screw use ratchet and small extention to get it off, stick the extention in the square and back out.
Step 9. take your oil pump, put it in the bottle, stick the tube in the hole, and down, the tube should stay in place by its self, if the tube dosent go in all the way oil can spew out when pumped.
Step 10. pump 1.58 quarts ( 7.5 inch rear ) in.
Step 11. clean off the screw, add loctite, and put back in. take it untill it stops then give a good snug.
your done! total time, 30 minutes.
i had both tires off ground ( i have t loc) and spun them freely, started car and put in to second gear letting it lube up the clutches and gears not under stress, let the RTV set for 45 minutes then took a 3 hour tour.
