my general filter rule

hand tight, then a quarter turn ( with filter wrench )

When you wire in your fog lights there’s 4 ways of doing it.

Put in lights. Ground them to the body. Run the + feed to the relay. Then ground the relay. Then run the + feed from relay to battery post or starter solenoid. (See picture on the last page)

Now that is the set up for ways 1 2 and 3

From the 30 run a fuse (15 amp) to the battery or solenoid

From the 85 go straight to a ground/

From the 87 go to the fog light +

And finally the trigger wire from the 86.

Way 1 do as above

To get way 1, turn on parking lights fogs come on automatically.

To do this. Tap in to a parking light hot wire. NOT A TURN SIGNAL WIRE, or you’ll have blinking fogs.

On the S-197s the front extreme left and right runners (smallest edge amber bulbs) have 2 wires. The brown wire in the hot. This is where terminal 86 will tap in to.

A test light will help

Now when the power is applied it will trip the relay. So now parking lights and fogs on at same time. But fogs wont ever go out.

Way 2 parking lights alone then when u turn on low beams the fogs come on, and when you turn on high beams the fogs go out (how its supposed to be) to do this unplug a headlight socket. Use a circuit tester. Find the low beam wire. Tap in here. To pin 86 on the relay. Now when you turn on high beams it will go out.

To get way number 3, fogs off unless high beams are on, do as above, but tap in to the high beam wire (will light up when high beams are flicked on)

Way 4 is to hard wire with a kit from the store. Any questions just pm me!

The relay works for anything that requires high volts or amps, but you don’t want to risk main wiring to it

be sure to get good connection i used wire connecters that plug on to the relays. wear saftey glasses and make sure to unplug battery before doing ANY work.

Default 2005+sequential install

just a quick rundown the plug and play seqs get plugged in to the rear end tail light harness.

then pull out the 2 inner bulbs, remove socket, remove grommet, poke a hole in that grommet, then insert the signal wire in to the empty hole in the socket. it should fit snug

no when you wire in to the running lights
( wire the relay in to the lights not the fogs themselves ) they are always on.

to get them to turn off when high beams are on
( legal DOT way ) wire relay trigger to low beam on headlight socket, a test light will help you find it, then have a friend flick on brights, test light should go out.

Tools needed
Medium ratchet
Fluid pump
SAFTEY GLASSES

Step one, chalk tires, apply hand brake, leave in first (or reverse***). Jack the car up, i did mine from passenger side but it does not matter. Car must be on flat ground, if you’re on a slight hill like me, point car down the hill ***.

Step two, WEARING SAFTEY GLASSES using the ratchet locate the 2 caps on the transmission. Unscrew the top one, this is your vent.

SEE PICTURE 1

Step 3, slide oil pan under car, and use the ratchet to back out the lower one, fluid will come gushing out!

Lower jack and let drain.

Step 4, jack car back up after draining has stopped. Use loctite if you want, i chose not to, and put the lower drain plug back in.

Step 5 with your pump in your ATF bottle, stick the tube in the top hole, this is now your fill hole.

SEE PICTURE 2

Step 6, pump 2.75 QTS of fluid in to the top hole, remove tube, then replace vent/fill screw (the same screw is both the vent and fill hole)

Done!

Total time,15 minutes.
This sounds fairly simple and I have a little over 50k on my '06, so I think I need to do this. Does anyone have any pics of what I'm looking for under the car? I can change oil and this seems like it's kinda like that...I just need to buy a pump. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

laying under your car on the passenger side wil be 2 rusty screws with square inverted heads. the top is the fill/vent the lower is the drain. place pan under it and drain then fill.

the 3/8s ratchet with small extension will open and close these screws. cant miss em! i recommend valvoline ATF for this procedure

Cut mine out with a box knife. A perfect cut with no need to clean up. Slow and easy using template.
