The computors all wacked out because its senseing to much air flow into the engine. you need a tube to correct it, but also make sure your MAF sensor is plugged in and the hose clamps on the throttle body are tight.

Try disconnecting the battery (should do this with any work) to reset the computer, make sure all the clamps and electrical connection is good.

In a word; no. Especially in your case. Here's a little info that should help you understand whats happening....
The computer in your car controls something called your air/fuel ratio. The air/fuel ratio is how much gas your engine uses as opposed to how much air it is bringing in. When adjusted properly, you will get the maximum performance out of your engine. When it's thrown off you'll get a check engine light.
What has happened in your case is that you've increased the amount of air going in, but left your fuel amount the same, thereby changing your air/fuel ratio to a "lean" condition ("lean" is when you have too much air, not enough fuel and "rich" is what its called when you have too much fuel and not enough air)
Now to continue with your original question; is it ok to run the motor with the check engine light. Chances are you're running lean, especially if you've got a check engine light. If this is the case then you need to straighten out your air/fuel ratio by either getting a tune to adjust it or removing the aftermarket intake you have installed. If you don't it can ruin the motor or at least it will seriously decrease it's life.

No, it wont make your car sound louder, but with the proper tune you will be able to straighten out your air/fuel problem and get rid of your check engine light.
This is a pretty common problem around here as many people think "cold air intake!" for their first performance modification. They don't stop to research it before they slap one on their car.
The funny thing is, if you're running lean you're probably losing horsepower over your stock configuration. So you're actually paying to go slower.

The tune has to match the CAI. If you are using stock tunes that came with the tuner, those are for the stock airbox. Otherwise you will need to get a custom tune for your CAI.

a custome tune is made for your car and your mods so the tuner tech will adjust your computer to account for your mac cai so your engine light will not come on
i dont know who does diablo sport tunes but you should check out afm.com site sponsors to see if any one does
