Default Choosing between an 8.8 and lsd

Just basicly looking for some advice on this one. Im getting an the new x-charger when i get back to the states and i'll have plently of money to get what i want or need to support it.

The question is, should i just stay with 7.5 and put a LSD in it and which one, or just go with a 8.8.

Im not going to change the gearing as its a daily drive and i'll be doing almost only highway driving. But if i get an LSD from americanmuscle i'll basicly be getting it free from a friend of mine vs the 1k i'll have to pay from NTO + shipping to an aprt.

Does any one know the avg cost of the install by chance?

Thanks

i can't help you with a cost of an install, but i would definatly recommend the upgrade to an 8.8. when adding serious power, like a blower, one should always go for the 8.8. it won't blow up from all the torque. doing the swap will cost less now compared to the tow bill and time spent without your car.

I'd say, and most would agree, get the 8.8 with t-loc and new gears in there and then just install the new rear end. Or you could do the same with a 7.5. But get a whole new rear axle with the tloc and gears in there. Also quite a few did the job themselves. Ask around how to do it.

With the extra power of the FI the 8.8 probably would be a good move.
