Not only can it be used, it's available as an "official" add-on for the X-Charger through Bamachips dubbed the Wet-X.

The Wet X kit [X-charger coolingmist kit] - $449.00 : Bamachips, The Mustang Tuning Source

I've been running it for quite a while as have a number of other X owners. Works great.

I'd be happy to answer any questions I can.

There's a pressure switch that only feeds water/meth mixture to the injection nozzle when the car is under boost, so you don't actually go through a lot.

With regular driving, I top up my Wet-X tank when it gets to the halfway point, which for me is about every week to week and a half.

You also don't have to use the costly premixed water/meth mixture for daily use, simple windshield washer fluid will do (You want the cheap blue -20 degree stuff that's just water and methanol, not the fancier/more expensive stuff that has detergents, etc)

also...instead of running wires from your trunk...a lot of people use their actual windshield washer fluid resivoir. just mount the pump to it and and run your lines from there. saves some time on the install...keeps the car looking clean and gives you one more reason to pop the hood and stare at your x charger for long periods of time
