05 Auto, 40,000 miles
Im not sure how long this has been going on but today i had my car door open saying goodnight to my girl and i shifted from P to R. i hear a thud from under the car and a very slight hissing sound. i put it back in P and another thud, hissing gone. i put it in D, another thud, hiss back on.

so i made my girl startup her maxima and made her shift
nothing from under her car.

when i shift from P to anything, there is a that thud, just once..but the light hissing sound stays. shift back to P, no hiss.

any auto tranny gurus find this weird? or something that our trannys do normally? ive done a fluid flush + new filter in early september.

im kinda worried. also, sometimes the car jerks a little bit when upshifting as i accelerate, havent noticed any hesitation though, it shifts ok. doesnt always jerk, sometimes only. im gonna get a new fuel filter tomorrow at ford.

im sorry if i sound all over the place, pretty freaked out..

p.s - checked garage floor, absolutely no signs of a leak

i would probably take it into a shop and have them do a diagnostic to see whats wrong, if the noises continue

Sounds Like You Dont Have Enough Tranny Fluid, Stealership Will Be Able To Check For You But make Sure They Show YOu The Tranny Fluid Lever For Yourself Or Else They Might Just Tell you You Need A tranny And Try To Rip You Off....You Know How They Do.

fluid is good bro. new filter + fluid in september this year. no leaks.
