Default 2007 Auxiliary Audio Jack needed

I ordered an '07 V6 w/ Pony Package last week in Vista Blue. I can hardly wait

I have an Ipod Nano, can anyone tell me what I will have to do to get it to play through the Auxiliary Audio Jack?

Thanks,

Barry in Acworth, GA

You just need a cord. I took the one off of my daughters Ipod pillow and it works like a champ. The cord should have a 1.5mm (I believe - may be 3mm) as it is the same size as the headphone jack that plugs into your IPod. The input plug is located in the center console and to make it play, you select AUX button on the head unit.

That's way to easy and it sounds like the jack is in the perfect location.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Is there a 12-volt powerpoint in the '07 center console too?

Thanks

Default RE: aux input

Wow, so the 07's have the standart jack? I have an 05 and ended up switching to an Alpine head unit 'cause the stock radio aux port required a special (and expen$ive) cable adapter.

Yes it has a standard jack. Ford has changed the Mach 500 and 1000 from 06 to 07. The quality is much better than the previous years. I had an 05 and the Mach was a POS.

Ford doesn't show the Trip Tunes for the 2005s only 2006 and 2007. I bought the iPod2Car adapter then it started causing my computer to go nuts and was giving out all kinds of false error codes.

Does anybody know if the iTrip will work on a 2005?

Default iTrip works with 05s

The Griffin iTrip for iPods work well with the 05 mustangs. ive used mine for a year now and its amazing quality. i set my iTrip to 88.3 and never miss a beat. good invest for those of us low on cash and dont want to crack open our consoles to mount a brand new headunit, or fish out the bucks for a 20pin connector for our stock radios.

You lose sound quality when using the radio transmitter adapters.

Just thought I'd chime in here. I have a 2006 Pony, and since it didn't come with an audio-in jack, I bought a third party adapter that plugged into the back of the factory deck. Since the factory decks have an AUX setting, this little box just converted an RCA input (Red/White left and right connectors) to the CANBUS connector on the back of the factory deck. If you search google for IPOD and Ford Mustang you'll find the unit. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes and costs around $100. Super clean sound out of it, and you just connect your iPod to it using a 1/4" to RCA audio cable that you can get at Radio Shack for $5. Then just select the AUX setting on your factory deck and you're good to go. Use it with a Griffin RF remote for your iPod. You can just leave the iPod in your center console glove compartment and use the remote to shuffle between songs.

Now, if you want to connect the iPod to a deck and have the deck display song titles and have the iPod controllable through the faceplate I recommend buying a Clarion deck with CeNET interface, then purchase the necessary CeNET cable that connects directly to your iPod's data port. That's how I have my 'Stang set up right now (the factory deck and philco speakers are ass for fidelity).

If you need any advice on connecting your iPod, throw me a private message and I'll send you some photos and schematic instructions. My baby is set up so that not only can I connect my iPod, but I also have an additional AUX jack for my PSP or portable DVD player. The Mustang makes a great multimedia center!

Yea, I bought the one from Peripheral Electronics that pulgged into the CANBUS on the head unit and the data port on the iPod. It displayed the song and sounded great. Then one morning I go to crank the car and the gauges started displaying a ton of false errors. Like, out of fluilds, gas, e-brake was on and a bunch more. Ford service pulled the adapter and charged me for the labor. Peripheral was totally no help when I talked with them.

I found my info... The one I used to have before installing my Clarion deck was the Precision Interface Electronics FRD04-AUX. It's available at www.pie.net

I remember there was an issue with these in the very first models, I haven't heard of any issues like yours since PIE updated the firmware on these.

I've chatted with several people on the different forums that are having the same issue with the unit from Peripherial Electronics.

Hi there, the PIE unit I mentioned is not from Peripheral Electronics, it's from Precision Electronics (similar name, I know but certainly not the same device). It doesn't show any sort of song title display on the factory radio. All the PIE unit does is convert the output from the iPod's headphone jack to a CANBUS interface that provides an AUX source to the factory deck. It's basically an audio-out passthrough. There is no data being passed through the CANBUS port, only an audio signal.

Honestly though, if you have around $300, just get an iPod compatible third-party audio deck. Unless you have the Shaker system, the factory audio on the Mustangs are really not that great. Mind you, I speak as someone who takes audio quality a little too seriously .
