no the model number stays the same. its just a new batch of shifters they just made. any old ones made before march probably have the problem. theres a ton of people out there with hurst v6 shifters. they dont wanna give em away. give it a week. it took a week before i heard anything.
After reading this I decided to cancel my Hurst shifter order from lmperformance.com...I guess I'll have to wait until the "rattle-free" version hits the store shelves. I was really looking forward to this mod.

honestly if i could do it over i wouldnt have gotton anything. your paying $230 for looks. sure the throw is shorter but you cant shift any faster than you used to. theres that gate that you break through to get it in gear.

Hello to you all, Since there seem to be a surplus of the shifters on ebay and other places I have two questions. How can one tell if they are getting the revised unit? AND, Is there a physical difference in the look of the shifters when they are side by side? Want to put one in, but have already been told by one distributor that his are from Feb 08 and he has not had any returns so he plans to sell off and then reorder his stock. Sounds pretty chancy to me that I may get the "old" style for months from now!!!

well i got the okay from hurst to send mine back for a replacement but i had to take mine out and send it back first. soooo, now i have my stock shifter back in and couldnt be happier. the trans shifts smooth, no noises or vibrations and as sickv6 mentioned the short throw doesnt allow you to shift any faster, in fact in my opinion, slower. sooo im gonna send mine back and get a replacement and when i get the new one im gonna sell it.

I guess neither MGW or Pro 5.0 make a shifter for the V6?
After almost a month of having the Hurst shifter in my car and listening to that damn rattle, I pulled it out and put my stocker back in. I've contacted Hurst like others and plan on selling the new one when I get it. Those of you still putting up with the rattle, put your stocker back in. You'll be surprised at how much better it feels than the Hurst.

It has to be a design flaw on the V6 model because I'm not hearing the same complaints about the V8 Hurst.
the good old shity hurst thread. well my new one that was replaced is now rattleing just like the old one. even worse. the shaft doesnt move up and down anymore like the old one but the noise is there loud and clear. everything is tight bolts arent the issue. if anyone is thinking about getting a hurst for there 6 just read all these posts. they plan old suck! boycott em i think china can produce a better product.
