As far as I know both vehicles have transmissions unique to themselves. The V/6 is a T-5 and the Bullitt would be ( I believe) a Tremec 3650. They are very different. I would suggest that it is best to buy what is designed for your car. Modification of the Bullitt shfter would probably be very costly if not impossible.

check out the 3rd post takes about 15min at the most and WOW is it great to have the shifter quiet.
I installed this fix yesterday and it has fixed my Hurst shifter rattle problem. The hose they show is bulk swimming pool replacement hose at Home Depot for about $3.40 a foot.

I just purchased from Summit Racing for $187. So far no rattle, and no play in the shift in neutral up down-can't pull it up or down 1/4" like others reported.
So maybe they fixed it, same part number. Nice positive clicks into each gear, more comfortable (higher) position than stock.

P.S. the box mine came in has a packing date of July 2008 on the flap so not sure if there is a date when or if the rattle was fixed. So far no rattle.

No idea, can you pull up or push down on the shifter? Some said a lot of play in their's so maybe that is the issue, the ball in socket part had too much play? Mine has none, can't pull it up or down in socket, extremely tight.

no play up and down at all.... all three were the "improved" ones!
Hurst basicaly told me I have to live with it....they said it is normal.....DRIVING ME MAD!!!
After reading the thread on this I drove to summit racing in reno- bought the Hurst supercomp and 3 bottles or royal purple-- Hardest part of the mod was putting the car on jack stands.. It was a big improvement. well worth the time and effort.. Shifting is now fun again- dont think I am crazy about the white ball but it will do for now... Been so long since I have wrenched on anything it was actually fun..
Put in the hurst about a week ago- drove to reno yesterday and was like what the hel is that rattle? called summit and they refered me to hurst there phone number is 818-882-6422- its actually b and m now spoke to some dude named chris.. no help- he says the old shifters are all accounted for.. no way could i have a old style.. but if i want to ship it in they will look at it - three week turn around time.. no other shifter is listed for the car.. so no help there.. hate spending money on junk.. like the shift. hate the rattle.. guess will look into the hose thing..
That's funny....I spoke to Chris as well........he was NO HELP!!!
If you and I have both spoke with him, imagine how many calls he gets on that "rattle"!!!!
I live in Jersey and I called the largest Ford motor sports dealer in the state...Downs Ford ( most dealers in Jersey get thier ford racing stuff from them). The guy told me they have installed at least 200 Hurst shifters in 05-09 Mustangs and no one has complained. He said there must be something wrong with the way mine has been installed (funny cause the guys at ford racing and hurst said it can only go in one way).
Anyway....I have an appointment with that dealer next week to check it out, I will let you know.
Ok...went to Downs Ford in south Jersey yesterday, these guys are GREAT, worked on my "rattle problem" for about 3 hours and diddn't even charge me!!!!!
The long andf the short of it is, it still rattles. They have not seen one rattle as much as mine, and have NO idea why it does. The shifter seems fine, the trans has no issuses, the shifter just rattles.
They called Ford Racing to see if they could replace it and Ford Racing ( the dicks that they are) said NO.....they are all noisy....live with it!!!
They did put grease in the socket which helped a bit, but still back to square one. I really can't live without the Hurst so I just might have to start " torturing" Ford Racing, by calling every day till they swap it out again for another, and MAYBE that one will be better.
