Default 2008 Mustang GT... What should I expect for RWHP?

Hey everyone, i just bought a Brand new 2008 mustang gt with a 5m and was wondering what the actual RWHP is. Ive been searching around alot online and havent really gotten a stariat answer. Also ive heard talk about the crank 300hp being underated, is there any truth to that? oh and one more thing are the autos quicker than the mans cus that seems to be another thing ppl cant agree on?

Auto will lose about 15% and a manual around 12%. However, I have seen these things dyno anywhere from the low 230s to high 270s stock.

i knew that an auto would lose more hp, but most ppl are saying that the new autos that they put in these cars are more effective than the mans even with a good driver and i was wondering if there was any truth to this or is it just ppl with auto trans trying to defend there cars?

The auto is very good and most of the heavy track guys prefer it. It does still lose more hp than the manual.

When it comes to drag racing an AUTO is the best transmission. Just because of how consistent your car becomes. With a manual your track times very to much.

For other styles of races a manual will be much better, it just comes down to what you want to do and prefer. There is no better then the other its all preference.

so if alot dyno around 270 assuming it is a manual with a loss of about 12% than the 300 is underated. cus 12% of 300 = 36hp and 300-36= 264 which would be about 6hp off at the wheel and more at the crank right so with these numbers if my math is correct. our cars are underated by 5-10hp
