Convertibles look iffy with stripes, IMHO.

Here's a site to paint your car, virtually.

I like deep, metal-flake green stripes on a black car. Almost so dark, it's be more like a little green added to the clear coat.

Honestly though Fuzzy, I'd remove those hood pins if possible or at least remove the wires and get some black scuff plates

As for the stripes, like a many have already said, black is tough to pull off with stripes and convertibles are even more difficult.

Go with the ALL black convertible baby, that'll be hot... but CERTAINLY work on that spoiler to

The black ones on here are awesome (although pricey to, but hey, you get what you pay for)... I have a set on the way myself!

Fuzzy - your car has a nice clean crisp classy look to it... although I love stripes... I voted NO, I am not a fan of them on verts...

Hey Fuzzy, your car is just fine without them. Your scheme has nice subtle lines as is and I think stripes would "busy" it up a bit much. Just my opinion because I like your car.

1. I don't they they look as good on verts.
2. Black is already sleek, and stripes just take away from it I think. Although I have seen a black with silver stripes and it looked good, or ghost stripes, but in general no.

My reason for the stripes was mainly that the hood had so much real estate, I felt it look like the prairies in the midwest looking out over that thing, so I needed to add territory borders for the ponies underneath.

Your car looks fantastic just the way it is. Stripes would be too much.

Spend the money on performance parts like upgraded suspension

Gary, I say if you're feeling it, do it. And I agree with you, the
stripe(s) should be a silver/gray color.
Here's a personal opinion: if you do stripe the car, PLEASE make sure that the stripes go ALL THE WAY DOWN UNDER THE CAR and don't stop on the bumper (b/c, personally, I HATE that look).
Good luck with your decision!

I must say that I side with the majority in this poll. The thought of stripes was intriguing but I also was not comfortable with stripes on a vert. I saw that Grabber Orange vert with black stripes last summer that looked really cool, but I think Grabber Orange is one of those colors that screams out....stripe me ! Plus I saw the car with the top down....and when people mentioned that the stripes could look bad when the top is up, I thought about that and wholeheartedly agree with that thought.

There are a lot of cars on here that look sweet with the racing stripes....but yes, almost all of them are coupes. In fact I'm not sure I have seen a picture of even one vert on this site with racing stripes. I know MrV's is striped....but not in the classic sense....his is a little different....plus his car is never seen in public with the top up....lol.

Thanks for all the feedback....you all pretty much reinforced what my initial thoughts were !

the only kind of stripes that i would consider putting on a black vert would be some silver/gray "Ghost" stripes. Ghost stripes look terrific on black cars IMO

Speaking of which, I haven't seen Eric around the forums for a while. That new house of his must be taking up a lot of his spare time, not to mention mod money.
he posted in a topic a little while ago that i was in. He is dropping twice as much on his house as he has his mustang. But i did hear him say something about a S/C

I think stripes might be too much with your set-up. Your hood area has a perfect look with the scoop and pins. Stripes would be too much.
Maybe C-stripes for the doors
