Default Quarter window cover reliability?

A friend of mine was going about 90 mph on the freeway last week and he thought he was being shot at but it was his 1/4 window louver completely falling off and being lost for good. He said he had em on for about a year along with the roof scoop he has were slapped on with adhesive. They are the Xenon type louvers and they made is car look great but now he's having trouble taking the other one off.

I know a guy who had a Xenon hood scoop that flew off when he was going 70. He called and they said it was because it was mounted to far back. Has anyone ever seen a hood scoop mounted in the front?! He ended up just screwing it down. Maybe Xenon uses a different kind of adhesive than other companies. idk

I've had the louvers on for almost two years; still no problems with the double-sided tape install. I've heard that areas with cold winters can shorten the life of the tape quite a bit as it repeatedly freezes and thaws.

First I've heard of 3M tape failing. Sounds like the area wasn't prepped properly. To remove the other scoop use some strong fishing line and work it back and forth behind the scoop to cut through the tape like a saw. Might help to heat slightly with a heat gun on low.

The Red GT has Generation II Quarter Window Louvers that I had painted and were applied using 3M tape. They were attached directly to the the window itself and have held on with not problems in speeds up to 135mph (Ky Speedway). The Blue Roush has Roush Quarter Window Louvers, done by Roush Industries and are riveted into the body and cover the entire window. They've held on also with no problems with speeds up to 140mph.

Damn these cars are fun..
