Default Traction Control Question

Do all S197 Mustangs come with TCS?
If not, how can you tell if you have it or not?

I apologize in advance if this seems like an ignorant question.

there should be a TCS button on your dash... that allows you to turn if off.... to the right of of your 12v power right in the centre.

I have the TCS button but when I picked up the car and pushed it while driving I didn't see any indicators come on or anything on the display.

The word "off" will light up on the button after you push it. Durring the day it is hard to see, wait until it is dark then try it.

Thanks, it was indeed daytime.

Should be apparent I haven't practiced any holeshots yet!
All of the 5.0 stangs I had (all manual) had no problem boiling the tires just stomping the throttle after easing from a start. I was wondering why this '08 hooked so well.

Have to try it out now.

If you want to get down on it turn the TCS off and you will see a difference. On a rainy day it's nice to have it on.

Jesse - you actually drive yours in the rain ?

That's the auto equivalent of animal cruelty.

The chassis and control arms, etc are lightyears better than the old 5.0 stuff. The S197's simply have more traction. I was kinda a little bumed when I got mine because I like big smokey burnouts and the car just doesn't want to do them as much.

Even my 03 Cobra would turn the tires into goo when you side stepped the clutch in second. The car had about 450rwhp. My 07 has 470+rwhp and if I side step it in second it just flat out goes. Maybe a little hazing of the tires but certainly not a Pro Stock burnout.

Yes I do and it's very slow and lite on the throttle.

I hear that. Too many people here have "horror stories" about what happens if you aren't careful.
