Default 2005 mustang convertible build report

hey guys, well, winters around the corner, and rather then working on exterior stuff, i was wondering if anyone had a basic guidline for working on everything else... right now all thats done is exhaust i believe and aftermarket radio (shudder, i hate it) i wanted to work on the interior first, get some performance done, then get the exterior done, because by the time it gets warm, then it will be worthwhile, no one wants to paint or anything in the winter. i was thinkin about gauges... but ive only had 3 other cars, all which were beater cars, so i didnt care, so i want my mods to be really clean and simple for a person or 2... as i said, so far shes stock on the interior, shes Grey exterior, black/grey interior. leather seats and really clean. any ideas?

Cold air inlet and a custom tune would be two great performance mods.

You don't need a local tuner. You can go with an internet tuner like www.brenspeed.com, www.bamachips.com, www.tillmanspeed.com, or www.vmptuning.com . Take a look at the JLT II or the C&L intakes. Both are very good.

so i take it your suggesting a short ram intake? i actually perfer short ram, because i had a cold air intake on my old car (acura integra) and it sucked worrying if i was gonna be sucking up water if it was raining... also, k&n is just a glorified brand? how much better is the JLTII or the C&L?

None of the S197 intakes are fenderwell so water isn't an issue. I've run the JLT II, C&L Street, & C&L race CAIs. All are good but I liked the fit and finish of the C&L race the best.

I'd go with the SCT X3 and one of those intakes from any of those tuners. You'll get tunes customized to your mods.

You have AT or MT ? I believe the JLT II w/SCT average cost around $525, the C&L is a little more. How much dough you got for mods this winter ?

shes a 5 spd manual, and basically ill have whatever ill get... lol, im still paying on it, so money is kinda tight, it doesnt matter what the prices are, im trying to set a timeline. i was gonna go supercharged, but then i realized it would require 91 or 93 octane gasoline. so im gonna see how much i can get off the motor later on.
