I have just purchased a 2007 Gt 5 speed and am wanting to start making mods. I am thinking about getting a Steeda cai and sct livewire tuner or getting the sct touchscreen. Is this a good combination or is there a better combo out there that will give me better performance.
I think thats a great start, especially the SCT livewire. I kinda wish i had one for my car, but anyways are you still under any kind of warranty? If not or if ya dont care to void it id also recommend changing the rear gears which will help ya out the most off take off. And if your gonna do the cai and tuner, go ahead and get exhaust to help with your cars breathing. You have more air flow with the intake but it will have a hard time getting out with stock exhaust so aftermarket will really help you out.

I still have warranty left. What kind of exhaust would you recommend I want it to be loud but not to annoying I had a straight pipe on my ram and it got annoying after a while.

Magna flow mufflers would be nice for you.

+1 on the Steeda. I have it and it gave a great performance gain. The other benefit of a cai is that it also makes the engine louder at WOT. at normal throttle driving it sounds the same though.
As for exhaust I have run both the pypes violators, which I hated, and I now have flows, which I like. They do drone some and sometimes I want them to be a little louder but they are a nice medium. But a set of axlebacks really isn't going to give you a noticable boost in HP so whatever you buy you should buy based on the sound and not performance.
i also have a 2007 GT 5speed. my first mods were the SCT xcal3 Tune, JLT CAI, and Bassani SS axlebacks and Xpipe. i went with stanless steal for the xpipe bc it offers the O/R legs. so you can choose weather you like the rough raspy sound or put the high flow cats in and have more tone quality. Im running the O/R legs. i like the more agressive and raspy sound. especialy at the track.
Just from the JLT intake and the SCT xcal3 Tune and my Bassani Setup i ran a 13.54 on the 1/4mile. thats pretty good numbers for the few mods. Exhaust dont really add horsepower tho.. if anything i think it gave me like 6HP gain.. but deff. go with a intake and tune for your S197. best first mods and the tune you will use alot with Future mods.
My next mods are heads and cams and FRPP 4.10s, MGW Short Throw Shifter. I wanna go N/A before any kind of blower or turbo setup.
GOODLUCK WITH THE NEW STANG THOUGH!!!

If you plan on going with a s/c or a turbo later down the road save your self some money and go with the 3:73. 4:10's dont work well with forced induction.

whats wrong with 4:10s and being F/I.. please explain lol.
You have little top end "speed/power" with a lower gear. With 4:10's your power band is going to be in the low to mid rps. When your racing your only in the low rpms at the start. Your going to cut your self short at the end because it's going to take time for the s/c or the turbo to spool up they normaly kick in around mid to high rpms basicly where the 4:10's start to drop off. You can do it wil 4:10's but most perfer 3:73 .
