I am new to the mustang world, I am currently looking into getting either an 2009 or 2010 Mustang, but I am wondering how much better are they compared to the 99-04 mustang as I own this generation of mustangs. I love the 2010's look but I am unsure of if there is really any difference in them yet besides over all power. I am looking for sleek and stylish as well as something that could be a "sleeper" something that would look slow but still fast.
I have an 08 v6. Its my first mustang and im happy with it. I always like mustangs but the retro look of this one had me sold. At first i didnt like the 2010 style but its growing on me. I hear the 2010 has worked out allot of the bugs the previous style had. I had the body seem leak on my passenger side floor as well as squeaks and rattles throught the dash and interior. If I was buying today? 2010 unless the 09 was a screemin deal.
Well my issue is, i'm 19 years old working making like 1,000$ a month + school. So I want something that's not going to bankrupt me on everything but the 2010 is making me drool already. The edition I want is the V6 Premium and was roughly 27,000$. Thanks for the feed back so far guys.
19 years old+ $1000/ mo. + $27,000 car + insurance + a lot of other things= I don't see this happening in today's lending market without someone backing you all the way.

Well I already have good/great credit + a lot of companies such as ford, nissan and toyota are giving "first time buyers" as long as they have down payments the "benefit of a doubt" and letting them get the car.
On top of i have absolutely no bills at the moment besides the rent so it's still very logical since the monthly payments would be 400$/month with 250/insurance.

Man thats pushing it you are gonna be putting out $650 of your $1000 a month that won't work you said you have rent too!.... gas.... food....? and no they aren't taking down payments and giving people benifit of the doubt I had a down payment at a ford dealership when I wanted my car and they turned me away and I have good credit I had to go to the bank and didn't have a problem because its a credit union and then I went back and got the car.

The ford dealership around here is DESPERATE to sell any vehicle I was already approved for a 05-09 mustang. My rent is only 100 a month, which isn't bad + i go to college so it's not like i'm in dire need of extra spending cash.
If you decide to get a new Mustang, just be careful of the mod bug.. Once it bites, and it will bite, it gets expensive in a hurry..
New this and new that, chrome this and billet that, not to mention all the crusin you going to be doing!!
I for one say 'go for it'!! You'll be glad you did.. There are some great deals out there..

I don't think you can really say the S197 (2005-2009) is "better" than the '99-'04, but it is much cooler. Personally I would go for a '09 because I like the look/style a lot more than the 2010. Plus dealers are probably looking to get rid of '09s since the 2010s are starting to hit the show room floor, so you will likely find a better deal on a '09 than a 2010.

Yeah I agree, I found a PRE-owned 09 (huge surprise) with like 500 miles for 1/2 the price but if I get an 09 I wanna order it to my specs.
But thanks for the advise guys still not sure, my 99 handles like **** during the rain so I am trying to decide. Never liked mustangs until I owned one.

Buying used would definitely be cheaper, but I'm betting once 2010s flood the dealer lots you should be able to get a good deal on a '09.

Dealership are offering some awesome interest rates for new and used atm. Im not a big fan of buying "new" due to the price dropping after you drive off the lot.
Seems like you'll get more for you money on the 09' in the long run.
I picked up my 06 for around 12k with 28k miles, I was happy and love my Mustang! But have to agree once you are hooked it's easy to sink alot more money into new this and new that =P
