Default First day at the track for 2009 Mustang

Went out to Gimli Dragways yesterday. The snow had melted and the temperature was a balmy +7C (44 F). Last year on my Nitto 555E's I ran mid 12's @ 115 with a best of 12.27 @ 114.9. Since then I installed: 3:55 gears, 3000 stall T/C, had the tranny built to take 800 HP, installed a BBK twin 62 mm T/B, brisk racing plugs gapped to .032", ran on M/T street et's 295/45/17s. Best I did yesterday was 12.07@113.95 with a best 60 of 1.75. I expected 11's with all the changes.

Boy do those Mickey Thompsons ever hook! I have never experienced the G's on launch like this, Felt like a head rush, quite unpleasant really. My initial response was "holy sh*t!").

I am waiting for an upgraded tune from JDM. I paid for but 3 weeks later I have still not received the promised tune in spite of phone calls and innumarable emails and promises. Getting a little impatient.

Soon as I get the updated tune. There might be a little more power there to get me to 11's heaven.

Nice run. You're only an eyeblink away from your goal. If the air had some humidity during that run, then a drier day with the same ambient temp may get you there as is. These engines love mineshaft air.
