My dealer called me today and said the IUP is on hold indefinitly. I have to decide whether to hold out for the IUP (likely in a 2006 model) or forgoe the chrome dash, side airbags and mycolor gauges.

They are offering a sport package that includes the chrome steering wheel spokes and chrome shifter. I do have my heart set on the 05 so will likely go this route. I can always try some aftermarket options?

Sorry for the bad news guys.

If this is indeed true…my dealer seems to be informed only when I bring news in from this forum, otherwise they seem to be When I ordered my satin silver GT w/ the works, the salesman said I'd lose my $1K deposit if I backed out. If they can't produce the car I ordered in the time they promised…I wonder how much of a problem it would be getting back my deposit. I'm going there Tuesday and ask them"WTF" is the real deal. Tell me something that I don't know. BTW, I ordered custom made front seat covers in silver and dark charcoal that will be here anyday now. I may not be needing them.

I spoke with my salesman today and here's the new info. " I don't know anything". "It could be 15 days or 6 more months" was one reply. I mentioned all kinds of problems, i.e., IUP, SHAKER, ETC. This place hasn't a clue.

The general manager of my dealership called me today, just to update me (been 9 days since I ordered) said everything should be on track for my order. Asked about the IUP, he said thats why its taking the three months and not the 6 weeks. He said by the looks of things, that three months is the far end of the spectrum and to expect it a little earlier (stressing a little). Of course, I told him that things have been great so far with his dealership, and that I would suspect that if he had news that it was going to take longer that he would simply let me know and not lead me a long, cause thats what I would want. He said if it was going to take longer I would call you as soon as he knew. SO, not saying he's the know all, but for now, my hopes are still there.

I too went to my Dealer today. He showed me paperwork with all the orders on it. Apparently this dealer is allocated 4 Mustang GTs a month and the 4 for this month have VINS and build dates. Funny this is they all had the IUP. Then we found my order number. It said for vehicle assembly, remove the 18G and substitute 18R for immediate assembly, or words to that effect. He told me they were not going to do that and that based on their allocation of GTs, I should get a VIN assignment and build date sometime in Feb. He told me that from build week to delivery is a full three weeks and we are in Southern California. He said don't worry about the IUP and I should expect the Mustang exactly as ordered late Feb, early March.

I also asked when the date was that they would accept orders for an 06. He said sometime in June and if I didn't have my car by then, to order the 06. But he didn't think to seem I would be waiting that long.

My 2005 "Screamin Yeller" Pony (GT) was due in yesterday....this is the fifth vehicle that I have ordered from a dealership over the years. I ordered this one in early November and really haven't bugged the dealership about its arrival. Based on my previous experiences I knew that it wouldn't be here on the twenty-first and since I got such a "GOOD" :thumbup deal on this ride I'm not gonna make waves. I'll just wait for the phone call....hell when I checked in at the dealership just to get an update the salesman who did the paperwork and took my deposit didn't even know who I was and was trying to sale me a 2003 yellow Mach 1. Comparing a 2004 and below pony with a 2005 is like trying to go back to eating regular oreo's after you have been eating doublestuff's. Go figure!

Default A Great Birthday Present!

My wife and I went into our dealership to finally order my 2005 Mustang, the day before my birthday. I did the usual things, went for a test drive, talked about options, etc. When the salesman started taking my order, he was writing it on a piece of scratch paper, like we were sketching out some stumbled-upon idea! I was a little nervous, thinking "How is he going to remember all my options?" So then the salesman finally relented and got out a blank order form. He explained that we could start filling it out, or we could just use the order form that was already done for me! Turns out my wife had gone into the dealership a week before, and arranged for financing and ordered the car already, with the right colors, options, etc! She really was paying attention!

So a Torch Red GT was ordered on Jan 13, 2005. My wife happened to be at the place right when they were placing an order for Mustangs with Ford, so the salesman got right on the phone and replaced a V6 they were ordering for stock with mine(saved me 3 weeks, he said). Cool! My projected date is about 5 weeks from Jan 13, so maybe I'll have it by Feb! IUP included. I am stoked! Happy Birthday indeed!

This is the VOPC number and its for dealers only.
I have a print out of my order. It shows the dealer code and order #. When I gave this info to the automated service it said no details avaiable for the information given. I know the dealer code and the T82 and the year are right. I don't know if the order # is right. My question is this. Is this a response you get if the order has not been processed yet are is their a problem with the info I provided. I will try to verifiy the info with the dealer this week. Car was ordered 12/22. Thanks

Angry Dealer story-telling

I ordered an 05 premium GT (performance white) with red accent and IUP on 11/26/04 and was told of a 16 week delivery. Two weeks later was told by dealer the red leather was bleeding on the new owners clothes, so they had to redo all the seating surfaces at the factory. Yesterday the dealer tells me the MyColor is holding up production. Today I called the 800 # and was told the VIN was clean and unscheduled. Does anyone know what clean and unscheduled actually means? After reading the post about All of the IUP's being held up, I'm now getting pissed and considering an 06.

Here you go...YOU ASKED
unschd/clean- unit isn't scheduled (no VIN, no date, no guarantee to build), but is a buildable order once allocation and comodities allow.

ALLOCATION:
Allocation determines who gets the units for that build week. The way allocation is split is based on Sales and availability. They don't count equally, I think sales factor 60% and availablity 40%. The region like to call it turn and earn. The more you sell and fewer you have, the more you get. So if you've got lots of units on the ground and haven't been selling them, you won't get many new allocations. If you have none because you sold them all you should get a good number allocated. This information doesn't help a customer much as you really can't tell what dealers will get allocation. Larger dealers will get more allocation, but will have more orders also so doesn't mean faster scheduling. Generally most dealer are in simmilar situations and wait times will be simmilar.

Commodites- these are the items that are not availble (not Material hold, just overscheduled from past or supply issues, short term shortage, Material hold items Can't schedule, and items that aren't going to be "Free demand". Free demand items are ones that you can get as many as you want, supply outdoes demand. Other items may have a restriction.

Cool Build date is scheduled...

This thread has been extremely helpful! We were able to get status on our car using the VOPC today. We ordered our Mineral Gray GT with IUP on 12/17/04 and the VOPC has it scheduled for build starting February 7th. The information from the dealer has been sketchy at best, but mostly they wanted us to buy a similar one out of nearby inventory. No dice, as we want it the way we ordered it.
Also, keep in mind that everything is negotiable with pricing! When looking at extended warranties, check out www.fordwarrantys.com.

According to my hubby's paperwork, his GT was ordered on 11/26. (I guess they waited until our deposit cleared the bank.) I called the 800 number this weekend, the order is still clean and unscheduled. This is very frustrating. I am assuming that the automated line is giving the same info as if I talk to a human. Does anyone know?

I am really glad to have found this forum. It helps to know that we aren't the only one dealing with Ford.

Hi..Welcome to the site...Yes if you talk to a person on the system they will be nice....but say the same thing...they can only read what info comes up on their screen. It took 9 weeks for mine to arrive....for some it's been 12 so far....I know it's hard..but hang in there.:thumbsup

Default Me Too

I ordered a Silver GT with IUP & red interior option on November 18th. I've mostly been "clean & unscheduled" for all of that time. Although, there was a week earlier this month when I had a "compatability error." I was told that the IUP & the side airbags were the issues. Even though I'm currently back to "clean & unscheduled," today my dealer told me that the IUP, side airbag and red interior option were currently holding up my order. Rrrr.
