If you could insure that they would begin to build your car, would you give up the IUP?? Our salesman stated that each buyer who dumped the IUP from their dealership, the order was picked up almost immediately for build. Would you guys do it? We are wrestling with this dilemma.

NFW, if I can't get what I ordered…I'll look for something else…Like a snowmobile! we're buried up to our necks with snow here on Cape Cod.
I have a print out of my order. It shows the dealer code and order #. When I gave this info to the automated service it said no details avaiable for the information given. I know the dealer code and the T82 and the year are right. I don't know if the order # is right. My question is this. Is this a response you get if the order has not been processed yet are is their a problem with the info I provided. I will try to verifiy the info with the dealer this week. Car was ordered 12/22. Thanks
I got the same message off-&-on a few time. Just call back and say analyst and speak to a human!

If you give up the IUP, you not only give up the MyColor dash, which I think is really cool, but you give up the 6 gauge cluster and the chrome stuff added to the dash. I ordered mine with the IUP and think it is worth the extra wait.
Apparently the hold on the IUP is lifted and when I do my Ford Direct searches, I'm seeing more and more GT's , some with the IUP. Wait for it, you'll be glad you did.
First post here, but been reading you guys for the last month while I'm pulling my hair out in IUP limbo...I can't describe the disappointment when dealer called and said downgrade to Sports Package to get car on time . So I wait. Between you guys and blueovalnews.com, I know infinitely more than my dealer. Keep on passing the knowledge!

Dave...
Is the DORA order # the same as the dealer VOC? I have a print out of the order the dealer put in on 12/22 but do not have a copy of the DORA. My brother works for the dealership and he called today and said the salesman told him he had a build date of 2/14. If this is true one more month to wait.

I work at a Ford dealer, and i ordered a GT with the IUP upgrade the day before Christmas my car is scheduled to start build on the 31st of Jan. I know the IUP hold has been lifted but they only build a certain amount of GTs per dealer per month. If you are wanting to cancel the IUP that is your decision but the wait will be definetly worth it, I had the option to cancel also but did not and was rewarded with the fact my car is going to be built 2 months sooner than told. Good Luck.

Hey S.D., I ordered a GT w/ iup, sat. silver, d. charcoal int., and a bunch of other options that were available. Not enough if you ask me! Anyhow, I've been back to and called my salesman about 6 times. I know 100% more from the people on "AFM" than all the visits and phone calls to my salespeople. Oh ya, the original salesman has been fired! I'm 8 weeks in and still clean & unsched. I would decline the GT if they tried to change my order!
I was calling the automated system everytime I say t82 for body # it says sorry i dont understand. How are ya suppose to say it LOL.
Thanks
say it "tee eight two". I called today and it said serialized. I ordered on 1/14, and the dealer didn't cash my check until 1/21, so I'm guessing that's when it was actually ordered. I got the premium GT, but without the IUP, so anybody have a guess as to when I should get it?
VIN and Build Date Dealer Confirmed- Canadian Order
Hi , I am new to the forum. I ordered a Mineral Grey GT Coupe on December 4, 2004 at Crowfoot Ford in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I got a call today from my Sales guy at the dealership informing me I had a build date of February 14, 2005. I also got a VIN number. I ordered my Mustang with the following order codes:
Factory
82 - GT Coupe
K - Mineral Grey
4K- 5 Speed Man Trans
4A - Active Anti Theft
18G - Interior Upgrade Package- including My Color Option
17L - Wheel Locking Kit
43A - Side Air Bags
Dealer Installed Options include
Pony Spinner Caps
Electrochromic Mirror
Chrome Tip Exhaust
Carpeted Floor Mats.
The salesman I have been dealing with is exceptional and keeps me informed of all developments on my order. With all the discussions on this site of part shortages and lawsuits associated with the My Color Option; I took the time to write a letter to the VP of Marketing of Ford Canada. I got a personal call from the Ford of Canada Mustang Brand Manager who reassured me that my Mustang would be built with all the options I had requested. I was extremely impressed that I had got this call and that Big Ford was not ignoring me. The popularity of the Mustang (GO FIGURE) and certain options (MY COLOR) caught Ford by surprise. I new going in that it would take sometime to get this car. I am presently checking my VIN number to see that it conforms to the car that I ordered.
My advice to those tracking there cars progress is to develop a good relationship with your dealer and salesperson, and to be patient with the build process. Also, take the time and write a letter to the big guns at Ford. Let them now you exist and that you would like updates on your cars status.
