Default Chrome Muffler tip for V6 impossible?

Was going to add a Chrome Muffler tip to the V6 and a "heat shield blocker" is in the way. I asked a Ford Dealer and they said you can't add a tip to the tailpipe for the V6? I know that's not right, and so what muffler tip would you recommend?

Pic shows the weld onto the muffler tailpipe that blocks the Chrome muffler tip from being installed properly. I can install tip past the weld, but the tip sticks way out and looks dumb.

This is the exhaust tip I tried to install.

Maybe I should of tried to install a shorter one like this:

Does the angle of the stock tail pipe come straight out? If so it looks like the shorter 5 inch chrome tip would be a better choice. If still in doubt swing by an exhaust shop and ask them to look at it.

Default Stock Chrome Exhaust Tip

You can get a chrome tip for the V-6 from Ford. P/N is 5R3Z-5K238-AA. Not sure if you'll like the look, but that's the one they make.
