To help anyone who wants to check on the build status of their new 2005 Mustang and not bother with asking their dealer every day..... Call (800) 962-3746 to get Ford Vehicle Status System...Press 1 for Automated Inquiry System....you will then.... be asked various voice responses....If searching for a Ford Vehicle........say Ford into the system. It will then ask for the 5-digit Dealer code....My dealer was F27009....you drop the letter and respond with 27009. It then asks if searching by VIN number or Order number. I only had my order number...so you say search by order number. It will then ask for model year.....say 2005 into system. It then asks for body type code....in my case, my Premium Mustang GT code was T82. Finally it asks for the Order Number which in my case was a 4 digit number.

Hopefully your dealer will be as good as mine in providing me a printout of their order entry when I placed my order for the car at the dealership back on November 20th. I asked for a copy of their order printout so I could verify that they had entered the correct option codes and the sheet has Dealer Code, Order Number, and Body Type data that I could then use in this automated system. Hope this helps with all the rest of the folks like myself who are waiting for their 2005 Mustangs

I called the 800 #, but the voice kept saying it couldn't understand. That's when a live person came on the line and it ended there.

Just remember, As Ive stated when I first posted the #. The 800# is a DEALER tracking # only. If Ford
changes the #. Than we have no way of Tracking our cars. Dont call everyday, call on Friday afternoon.
