Help with Seat Cover installation problem-dealer wants $400 to install

i bought my car off the lot-it had 99% of what i wanted on the lot so i decided to take it. one thing i didn't like was that it had the "mustang" interior with the word "mustang" in there about 1,000 times.

i recently bought a set of seat covers from casco on ebay-the ones with the pony logo and i like those much better. i took my car into the dealership yesterday for some other stuff and asked for an estimate for them to install the seats. the guy calls back a minute ago and says it'll be $399.75 to install them.

i think this is a rip-off. has anyone else had custom interiors done, and if so how much did it cost? i'm thinking about doing it myself but i don't want to eff it up. help!

d w rutledge, Go to page seven (7) of this site and look for " new seats and stripes done" This guy bought new leather seat covers and installed himself. Said its real easy Look it up Great looking seat covers if you like yellow

I plan to recover mine myself (after purchasing the covers). If you are really afraid you'll eff it up, you should try an upholstery shop.

Look out for this if you do it yourself.... the plastic trim piece that covers up where the seat back adj. handles are WILL break the attaching clips off on the back side when you remove it. The covers are about $ 40.00 each.
