...It should be right in front of the Service Manager as you're pulling out of the service bay.
I took the '
Stang in for its' first inspection today. I started the car to leave and it began running rough when the CEL came on. The service manager was standing right next to the car. So I shut it down and tried to re-start it with the same results. The service manager decides something ain't right and gets in to drive back around the building to the service bay entrance. Gets about 10 feet and the car stalls. This happens two or three times. Then he comes to a stop and has to have the car pushed back into the building. Oh What a Feeling...
So I go back to the waiting area which is glass enclosed and has a view of the service bay where my car is. The Mechanic gets out his computer and hooks it up, when a second mechanic walks over. Then a third. Then a fourth. When the fifth one showed up I started to get worried.
Well, after a few minutes, the hood goes down and the car is running fine. When doing his inspection he had to undo some of the wire plugs under the hood and one must have not been connected properly, because after he checked the connection and cleared the trouble codes, the car ran fine. Apparently, the fuel pump wasn't sending any gas to the engine, so it effectively ran out of gas even though there was a full tank.
So, if you're going to break down, the service bay is the place to do it.
Of course, I got a rock chip on my fender on the way home. You didn't think this saga was going to come out entirely perfect, did you?
