How on earth can anyone ever need more bass than the 1,000? I can't see needing the 1,000 for any real music. I can see it if you listen to rap or some other similar pseudo-music, but otherwise it's way to easy to have too much bass with that system. Jazz, blues, rock, classical, etc don't need anywhere near the bass that the 1,000 is capable of generating in stock form.
That said, it's very good from a quality standpoint and unless you turn the bass up too much it stays very clear. It gets muddy if you push it, ugly muddy, but adjusted the way a sound tech would set it up it's exceptionally good for a factory setup.
