Oh man. she's pretty much done for. I'm not sure how you get off of killing a memeber of any royal family, which sucks a lot. Her life is ruined, all because she was flying on the highway.
Was she really racing someone, or just speeding? Either way, she f'ed up royally(honestly, no pun intended!).

The article says she was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and engaging in a speed contest. It happened on Wednesday, so I imagine there will be an update coming once the Tongan government has taken care of the necessary business.

where is tonga anyway?before we condemn this poor girl...she was just trying to get home to do her homework...probably going really fast because she was eager to complete the assignment...when out of the blue these tongans cut her off because they figured they could do that with their diplomatic immunity and all that...here we have an innocent american girl just hurrying to get home...she needs our understanding
Weirdest thing ever! I just watched the simpsons... the episode was Homer renting a mini-cooper and speeding after saying "screw this roundabout... im gonna drive like an american" and crashes through the gates and hit's the royal coach with the Queen in it.... What a weird coincidence.

I use to drive that stretch of freeway almost everyday. It is US101 in Menlo Park, CA. There is always people speeding and weaving in and out of cars, and from what i've read...this girl just got her licence in Feb. She's only 18, and probably very inexperienced when driving at 100+ and weaving in and out of traffic. She hit the Explorer on the driver side and made it swerve and loose control. I think she was driving very wrecklessly and caused 3 people to loose their lives. There is no excuse and she should pay for her neglegence. This should make an example that you dont do this on public highways and endanger others. If your going to drive like this, be prepared to pay for it later. Now, If shes found guilty or involentary manslaughter...she can get 8 years per person. So, was it worth it?

Another case of NOT thinking and having to pay the consequences. With so many drivers on the highway these days it's insane to think you can get away with this kind of driving very many times. Eventually it's going to catch up with you. In this it didn't take very many times. It's really a shame.

She needs our sympathy??? What she needed was some common sense. She's killed three people because of her stupidity.
What everybody seems to be missing are these points...
(I agree stupidity IF she was speeding and if she is PROVEN to be guilty, then she should have to pay for her lack of any reasonable thought.)
America= innocent till proven guilty. I know from personal experience that the police have guessed wrong on speed before. Not to say she wasn't, but doesn't everyone deserve the benefit of doubt?
18 yr old that has been driving for 4 months has a 98 mustang...sounds like money in the family= very expensive and probably very good lawyer. If it ever makes it to court I bet probation and loss of license. Those blood suckers can get anyone off (Remeber OJ????)
